Sorry to add to this thread. Thought adding to this may be best since my issue is similar.

I'm very excited to see NextPVR supporting IPTV. I make use of paid IPTV service and I'm also like the OP is struggling with the EPG side of things.

@sub thanks for the patch posted above it helped me as well to make use of URL rather than a XML guide file.

1. I went to devices - iptv - import channels - Added the Channel list URL - Added the EPG guide URL in the Guide Source and then clicked import, which imported 2918 channels.
2. Then went to channels and double clicked the first channel. I then selected XMLTV as EPG source and entered the epg URL in the XMLTV File field. The selected the corresponding Channel name in the mapping section.

I'm sure I must have done something wrong, since no EPG info is pulling through at all. The channels are playing fine though. The URL used works 100% when entered intro browser.

Also I'm not 100 % I did the bulk mapping thing correctly.

Can you please tell me if I did something wrong? I also wonder if the EPG might be incompatible with your program.

Feel a bit at a loss at the moment.

Can you PM me the EPG URL? I'll try it here.

I can see what is wrong with your URL. Nearly every listing in that file (>95%) is for back in March 2017. There is handful of listings for April/May/June. There is nothing any more recent

i have been trying for 3 weeks now to get this EPG working correctly. I have a tuner and also iptv provider. I can not for the life of me get this EPG working. I have tried every plugin i can find even for linux. But Ubuntu is buggy with my usb tuner. Nextpvr does everything I need except the EPG. The URL for the EPG has a format like this: "http://aaa-tv.xyz:25461/xmltv.php?username=XXXXXXXXX.com&password=XXXXXXXXXXXX" (i put in "X's" for obvious reasons) You notice in the link its pointing to a xmltv.PHP. Could this be the problem? So could it be that it is not parsing the file or link correctly? The m3u playlist is a similar type link. I get the channels and m3u just fine but not the EPG (xml)

I then fill out both lines on import channels. I have tried just the top one by itself also

And this is the result

I am attaching the EPG URL saved as a .XML for you to look at. The channels play fine and I can record the tuners channels because its OTA guide is working. Just no EPG for the IPTV. I really would like to use the programing guide that goes with my provider and not a 3rd party as I dont believe it would be accurate. I saw a couple of posts above the .dll file that was attached to the post. I dropped that in there as well. Not sure what it changed though. Also I have the recent release of NextPVR v4.0.4 (170731). I sure hope we can get this working. 3 weeks researching all of this my brain is jello now Tongue
PS Maybe this might help you. I am using KODI for the frontend. I dont know if you have any knowledge of the addon in KODI called "Simple IPTV" the guide works fine when i use that. Problem is you cant have nextpvr and simple iptv enabled at same time. I need NextPVR for the OTA tuner channels

I had a PM exchange with sub about my problem. It might be that our issue are the same. We found that there is in some cases an issues with "importing" the EPG data via an URL. Sub is going to investigate why that might be. For now I just downloaded the XML file for the time being and when I linked it to the imported channels afterwards my EPG worked.

can you elaborate some more on the methods you used. I have 2 separate links from my provider one is m3u and the other is a xml.php link. I went to the xml link then saved it as xml then imported it and linked it to a couple of channels to test it. I got nothing. OR should i download the m3u and convert that to xml? Did you have to click on mapping at all?
