Client/server still seems to be working fine here with the current release. In fact I was surprised how well it seemed to be working Big Grin (my expectations were not high)

I wonder if there is any way to test the network bandwidth between your client and server.

Yeah, as long as it's a .ts file, then the new TS reader is used.

When you do client/server, from recordings or live tv, it does transfer data a different way though (via requests to NRecord.exe) rather than via the file system (opening and reading a file). I know this isn't super efficient protocol, but it should easily cope on a 100mbps connection. When you use 'Open File' or from the Videos screen, it's uses the file system.

If you can create a c:\temp directory on the client, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR\LogClientStream=1 (DWORD), then try watching the recording for about 10 seconds or so (no skipping), then post the c:\temp\client.txt, I'll see if anything stands out.

thanks Sub - Family movie time now - I'll get onto it tonight though. In terms of network performance I can copy a TS file from the TV server to the client and it runs at about 110MB (Megabyte not bit) per second so I'm getting full Gigabit bandwidth to the NUC.

I'll so that setting and get you the logs. Client server is bloody good as it means I just have a tiny NUC in the lounge rather than a huge beast - I have 3 hard drives and 4 Tuner cards in my pc so having that all in the lounge was bulky and the fan noise drove me insane - The NUC is awesome.

Actually - I am seeing the issue playing recordings. I'm out of time for today, so will need to check it out tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be able to give you a fix tomorrow.

I think very few people are running client/server. Many people that use clients are you using KODI/Emby/XNEWA/nlite etc, where this is a non issue.
