Another Artwork question

Is there a way to get landscape and/or artwork into the catalog.xml? Or is there a way to ignore the catalog.xml and use what is in the folder /media/shows/ directly?

Without editing it manually I think if you remove the catalog file it is recreated.

You could try the metadata hidden menu option but it doesn't support the Season sub folder.

Deleting the catalog.xml will result in that file being recreated. Not sure exactly what triggers the recreation, but the file will get recreated. The recreated file will contain all of the artwork(files) that CURRENTLY exists for the show. It would seem that if a new type of artwork is added for the show, it will NOT be automatically added to the catalog.xml file. This is why you can have types of artwork in the show folder but it will not be included in the catalog.xml file.

By "banner artwork" are you meaning wide short images like this? https://fanart.tv/api/download.php?type=...753§ion=1 NextPVR doesn't currently show those anywhere.

If you're using Schedules Direct, and these are things you've recorded using the guide, it'll prefer to get Schedules Direct artwork, since it can be sure of an accurate match. (other sources have to do a name search, and sometimes get incorrect content)

I have sometimes bad artwork for my recordings; for instance : a movie poster for a record which is not the movie but a show...

I don't use Shedules Direct but a xml file which seems to have links to picture for at least some programs.

My questions :

Should i disable services like "TheTVDB", "TheMovieDatabase", "FanArt.tv" ?

Sould i keep "Shedules Direct" service even if i'm not a member ?

What about "Download Types" : shoudl i disable all except "Thumbnails" ?

I didn't found a wiki page for "Artwork" settings.

You should have opened a new thread for your question.

In v4 definitely disable Schedules Direct since it has a logic bug and will call SD when it shouldn't

If you don't like the art you can certainly turn it off or you can also try and find the art you like manually via the NextPVR UI. NextPVR doesn't create thumbnails from videos so you can turn that off too.
