NLite for Mac

With Martin's help I have Nlite working on a Macbook Air. Looks good and it seems like basics of live TV. TV guide and playing recordings work. I need to work out the keyboard commands and touchpad actions to fully control it. It looks great.

The nlite messages in there look fine. It also contains some vlc messages - it's not uncommon to get some vlc messages, indicating things it doesn't like about the broadcasters stream, or any blips you have in reception (like these TS Continuity errors).

As sub posted there are a lot of stderr messages in the logs too. You might might to change the .sh file to be &> /dev/null Also consider adding an & at the end of the command so it launches outside the console.

My suggestion is you should consider building a version for your M1 https://github.com/emveepee/NLite-for-NextPVR since all the components including VLC have Apple Silicon libraries.

Also have you confirmed the your M1 server supports UI client from other platforms? libgdiplus.so might not work with Apple Silicon, it is not part of .Net.

You can try this Intel binary which does work for me.

You will need

brew install curl
brew install sdl2

plus you will need to install vlc and make sure you have the path set via this shell script

Note I don't consider that nlite is not really a full time user app, it is still very much a hobby-ist tool. But it is cool demo.
