As I mentioned when I first let people know about v5 (when I posted looking for testers), NextPVR v5 was going to be about providing the backend recording service and web server. The traditional nextpvr.exe UI is still available for Windows users. That said... you can get the traditional UI on Linux and Mac with the nlite client though.

There is a replacement UI coming at some stage, but that will be later, and I'm not sure what platforms it'll be available on.
You want get 19.04 or PoP_OS it run really nice vs 18.04

sub Wrote:Did you try the 'us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB' option instead?
Yes that what used under Kaffeine but with NPVR it come back blank the us-ID-Boise give 4 channel (8 thru 8.4)

mvallevand Wrote:@shspvr I know you don't like Kodi UI but there is an addon for Kodi called knewc that you can configure to autostart the NextPVR UI and you won't really know you are running Kodi.

Martin

That type of setup is done in the web app now. There is no intention to provide a GUI version of setup and configuration (and you can't even do it in nextpvr.exe on Windows any more). That stuff, particularly given it needs to be cross platform, is much better suited to being done in a web app.

Do you have dvbv5-scan on your system? If not you might need to do 'apt install dvb-tools' to get it.

Try running:
dvbv5-scan /usr/share/dvb/atsc/us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB

So that didn't find any channels? Odd. Does using us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB-062009 make any difference?

dvbv5-scan /usr/share/dvb/atsc/us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB-062009
