Trouble with Schedules Direct

I've got another computer on the same network, running an older version of NextPVR, that is linking to SD just fine. And everything else on this machine is working perfectly. I can even log in to my Schedule Direct account from a browser, as none of my other applications are having any problems whatsoever. I can successfully ping the SD site from the problem machine.

I really feel like it's something specific to NPVR running on this brand new box. Maybe a port issue, but I've exhausted my knowledge of checking the ports and I just can't find the issue.

It might be that I just end up getting my EPG over the air on this build, because everything else works fine. It sure is a curious problem, though.

I repeat it is not SD related it can't do the standard broadcasts for the HDHR to http://ipv4-api.hdhomerun.com/discover and fails after many times in one minute Since the two failures I see are related to DNS and remote connections I continue to think it is something local stopping outbound networking.

Yeah, that's a good idea.

It may also be worth temporarily stopping the NextPVR service, and manually running NextPVRServer.exe, to see if there is any popups from his firewall software when it detects the connects etc.

I'm not entirely sure what you're recommending. I've run the NextPVR as an admin and a user, no difference. I run NextPVR server and the window closes before I can read it.

I did install NextPVR version 4_2_4_190307 and it runs just fine, including the linkage to SD.

That might just be my solution for now. I'm not as much an IT hobbyist as I am a guy who just wants to occasionally open a TV show on my desktop from time to time.

If you are happy with v4 that is fine. I was suggesting a change on the properties of the "NextPVR Service" Log On tab to run as a user by filling in the This account information.

That was likely because you still had the NextPVR Service running in the background (need to stop it from the Windows Services control panel), or you running NextPVRService.exe not NextPVRServer.exe.
