Bummer. Any other info I can supply? It seems to happen every ~3-5 days or so. Will more logs help?

I was also thinking of switching the tuner priorities so the HDHR was used first, then the 2250. I have no idea if that would make any difference, just trying to think of things to try.

Back to back are fine on my second tuner on my 2250 ATSC. Are you certain when you had the tuner problem initially because of the NextPVR bug that you reset your tuners properly? I'd reset them anyway and do some tests before doing a real recording.

By reset do you mean deleting channels and rescanning?  I've done that 3 times already since October.  I can do it again.  It's a bit time consuming and I have to manually merge 50+ channels afterwards.  The auto merge function uses channel names, my ATSC tuner scans come up with different names but have the same channel numbers.

Any chance the merged channels with differing channel names are causing an issue?

Since your tuner on the setup screen likely say this you should be ok.

"name": "adapter0/frontend0 (Samsung S5H1411 QAM/8VSB Frontend)",
"name": "adapter1/frontend0 (Samsung S5H1411 QAM/8VSB Frontend)",

You need to be proactive ad create a test scenario with scheduling 2 back to back recordings from 4 channel to see if it always happens.

Okay, that makes sense.  Busy week working on-site this week, but I'll set that up tonight if I get home early enough.

I guess I forgot to press "Post Reply"

Logs attached for testing with back-to-back recordings on all 4 tuners.

12-14-2020
11pm-12am In Plain Sight (failed)
11pm-12am FBI Criminal Pursuit
11pm-12am Law & Order SVU
11:30pm-12am Mom (failed)

12-15-2020
12am Unforgettable (failed)
12am Bob's Burgers (failed)
12am Fox 9's 10 at 10
12am Killer Kids

Let me know if this is helpful or if there are other tests I should do.  FYI, Kodi and NextPVR crashed shortly after (around 12:30am), but I have no reason to think it was related to this test.

Thanks,
-Brad

Thanks, I didn't think back to back on different tuners would work sub needs to look at that.

For the NextPVR crash you'd need to look in journalctl to see if it was the standard graphic library crash. I expect it is.

Are you sure Kodi crashed? I just see lots of errors because NextPVR was no longer available. It seems to just exit to the main menu and you kept going in with the server down.

Good question.  If I had posted this last week when I wrote it I might actually remember!  I remember being left with my web browser open which was in the background, but perhaps I'm confusing different failure events.  It was also closing in on 1am and I had been working a lot, so it may have just been a brainfart on my part.

I rechecked your test and it was invalid from the very beginning because your second tuner was already "broken" because of an earlier failure starting "A Christmas in Vermont (2016)" from back to back.

Best to try this test with a server restart.

Okay so this worked.  I scheduled 4 show recordings on different channels (assuming it used all four tuners).  I also scheduled the next shows on the same channels, so all 4 tuners should have been doing back-to-back recordings at 5pm.  Then I rebooted.  All 8 recordings worked.

Logs attached for this test with SUCCESSFUL back-to-back recordings.  I suspect this won't be that helpful, but what do I know, and since I did the test I'm uploading the logs.

12-22-2020 ~4:10pm - I rebooted the server.
