You should be able to figure that out yourself.

Well yes, you would thing so wouldn't you. And I don't believe I am stupid. I am a very logical thinker, a requirement for an Electronics Engineer. But my main downfall is probably from being pedantic.. it's really no good calling it one thing when it's really something else.
You know yourself from coding that it must be  100% correct, else it just won't work!

To me it's Logical that a CLIENT is not going to do the Job of a "Backend", and you have helpfully told me that there is an addon for it, so.. ahhh there it is Add-ons / Services - "TVHeadend Server"  4.3 (Alpha) Presumably the latest is V 9.80.11.100.  Server 4.2 is V 9.8.11.125... Clearly version numbers mean nothing.

So I installed that, even had access to it from another PC on the network on port 9981, just like in the instructions... It didn't see my USB tuner, so I figured a reboot would be in order. And that has destroyed my wired Ethernet connection!! Can no longer Ping the PI. Check the Settings in LibreElec/Connections... Might have to blow it away and start again :-(  Grrrr...

Sorry if this is frustrating you but this is not a TVHeadend or LibreElec support forum. I had never installed TVheadend (before today) and don't find it necessary to for me try and find out where/how LibreElec package or name it for you. I just knew users use it.

I did post earlier there is no guarantee that there would be firmware for your device, fortunately mine does show up in NextPVR on LIbreElec. If TVH doesn't find it I wouldn't expect NextPVR to find it either

You can check If you don't see any adapter using ls /dev/dvb If nothing shows then you will have to hunt through system logs. dmesg may tell you the name of the missing firmware.

Martin, Please.. I REALLY appreciate your help. I understand where your limitations should be, and you go way above and beyond what's required... And as far as frustration is concerned, this has gone waaay past that!!! But you see, I don't have any option at this time.
Family has been without FTA TV for over 2 weeks since the TF chip with Kodi crapped itself, and at the same time I decided to swap out the TV for a commercial monitor, that doesn't have a tuner. :-(

So now that I can't access the PI because something screwy went wrong with the ETH0, yes I'd like to look at the logs, but Ctl Alt F1 doesn't work like on any other Linux system, and there doesn't appear to be a terminal access from LibreElec... So.. it's back to google.. Frustration... I don't get it.. there's people on here that say they actually get it to work !!!

I got some real life work to do. I'll post when i am stuck / made some progress.
Thanks again,
Wambat

You need to ignore Linux instructions when working with LibreElec. There is no terminal access or x windows, ssh terminal only, assuming you enabled it as that would have been required if you did follow my instructions for NextPVR.

Sub provided and update that gets around the dtv-scanning-table issue and I hope have made installing this easier on Matrix version CoreElect and LibreElec. Post #1 of https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=62150 has been updated with the new instructions.
