He said it was Gemini Lake which is low end Celeron so he's results aren't surprising, his best bet would be to try a new transcode profile or a direct play client but he seems to want to use the browser

Yeah, I agree. With a low end CPU like Celeron, even with GPU assistance, it's gonna be relatively hard on the machine. Yes, that type of set would be much better suited to a direct-play client like nextpvr.exe.

Yes low end J4105 CPU but Intel specify that hardware encoding is a feature of the CPU. I have read in forums that people have had mixed results and somebody even said disabling VT-d would improve results dramatically. I will try when I have time. Also, I will try with Windows 10 Home as the OS and not Enterprise because some software deliberately restrict features in Windows Enterprise due to it being a business-oriented OS.

When using Kodi as the front end (and no transcoding required), there are no issues of course.

I just checked with OBS Studio and Intel Quicksync is not enabled! I also found out that Quicksync is not enabled in Windows Enterprise, so my suspicions seem to be corroborated with what I have gleaned from other forums. Seems like a reinstall of Windows (not Enterprise) is the way forward!

EDIT: Well, well, well. After downgrading from Windows Enterprise to Windows Professional (use the default Windows Professional key), I am now able to transcode using Intel QuickSync and CPU usage is around 20% rather than 60% plus. That will do for me!
