OK, I started the server and ran the command.  I didn't see anything like an Error except for a gnome-shell error prior to starting NextPVR.

Code:

I guess you need -n 1000 or more we don't see the crash there.

I did a fresh restart, verified the status of nextpvr-server = Active and ran the journalctl command.  The output is below (I couldn't spot anything suspicious, maybe you can?)

I also did another test - I installed NextPVR on an old laptop running the same version of Ubuntu 24.04 - It worked perfectly.  So, it does work and I do know how to install it!

I also tried shutting down a couple other apps that have local web servers (Syncthing & Duplicati) but that didn't help.

Seems there's something about the machine I'm trying to install it on that's blocking the web server.

Correct there is no issue with 24.04 whatever is happening is your local configuration.

You are using journalctl incorrectly. I just showed you a way to limit the logs, so you can browse it. You should be able to see the service start if you don't limit it to 100 lines but I can't guarantee that this will show why the 500 is occurring.

Since I just rebuilt the system a couple weeks ago, I'm thinking I'll just start over from a clean install. I'll install NextPVR first, then start installing apps one at a time until NextPVR breaks (or I can't get something to work) and hopefully that will expose the culprit.

BTW Martin, I really appreciate all your help troubleshooting! You've been super responsive and patient.

Good luck, there did seem to be extra errors not related to NextPVR in the journal so a reinstall makes sense.
