No I didn't mention agp speeds someone else did but 4x instead of 8x is going to make no difference, agp over pci (not pci-x or pci-e) is that the agp have more bandwidth again in this situation I doubt its going to be a deal breaker.
Back from the front: I tried my TI 4200 (64Mb) and a 5600 (256Mb).
Both performed well, but the 4200 dind't have the finesse to expand the screen size in steps.
The 5600 (w/ 2x the mem of the 5500 I had in there) worked really well. The real test for any setup is going to CNN, CNBC or Fox and watching the crawl at the bottom. W/ the 5600, it was clearest and smoothest of the three.
It may be card speed, but I suspect memory helped a lot. I support those recommending good cards, now w/ firsthand experience.
