Ok sub, I tested the EON command, it is the equivalent of hitting select on the Motorola remote, not really necessary for this box that I can see, so I left it out of my config file.

From what I understand, your Motorola box must be firmware revision 7.54 or higher, and your cable company must have serial control enabled.  My box's specific model is a DCT-2224 distributed via Charter Communications, and was serial enabled by default.  If yours doesn't work, you could always try asking your cable provider to enable serial input.

This file should work if someone follows the ubiqsoft link earlier in this thread, and use this file in the place of the SSGirderTunerWithDct2000UsingMultigroups.gml that they refer to.  You also need to start the Internet Event Server plugin within Girder.  It is available here:

Thanks so far! I followed the thread, and I can control the Motorola Cable Box. What I really want to know is how to get the additional channels (100 and up) available. On zap2it, it shows all of the channels I want, up to about 170, but in GB-PVR, it only shows up to 99.

Plus I would like to record the analog channels via the 150's tuner, and the digital channels via the composite in.

Yes I did change my profile to COmcast Digital, and on Zap2it it shows all of the channels.

As for not using the box on all, I don't have a real good reason... It's jsut that 1-99 work perfectly on the 150 card, I didn't see any reason to mess with that. Plus it has to be turned on (Obviously). I figure that if I don't use it for 1-99 It is one less thing to fail on a scheduled recording. If I can get the upperchanes working I might not worry about using the 150's tuner.

I guess the first thing I need to worry about is seeing the additional channels in GBPVR first. Maybe if I remove and reconfigure the card and program guide it will refresh properly? The channels don't show up in the config program either.

In addition to two capture source, you'd probably need two zap2it accounts - one with the channel lineup that includes channels < 100 (configure this for the tuner capture source), one with those > 100 (configure this for the composite capture source).

I guess you could also just use one zap2it account and disable channels > 100 on one capture source, and channels < 100 on the other.

OK, still no luck so far. I went to zap2it and saw channels up to 174 or so selected. Then I added another capture source with 150 on composite, girder plugin... updated EPG and still only saw 1-99. I am remote controlling my computer from work, and it is now recording STNG. And it says that Capture Source #1 is sleeping and Capture Source #2 is recording it. How do I know which is which? I assume that that is the order that they are listed in config. I deselected all of the channels on the cable box via composite entry, but that would be the second entry. (So a suggestion would be if you could have the status tab show what you named each source.)

Is there a setting to enable channels over 99?
I was very pleased to get girder working last night via serial, and I am sure that I am isiing something simple, or some other setting. I also have one other question. When using girder to record, can it turn on the cable box? (I assume not, sive it wouldn't know if it was on already, and might turn it off.)

Other than the speed/hanging issues, this is the only main problem left in making it fully functional for me. I removed my VCR and cable box from my entertainment center, and only have the MVP tucked in there.

I have the now defunct Digital Bronze package. The Channels I am mainly interested in are 114 BBC 127 SciFi 150-167 Encore, and the G4 channel.

As for what I see, in the TV Guide, and in the config.exe under capture sources, and channels, I see 1-72&99. When I visit zap2it, I see everything as selectable. I could PM you my zap2it account if you think I have it buggered there.

I think girder is fine, it was changing channels last night, and I had the card in composite mode, and it was viewing/pausing livetv fine. So I'm stuck at the over 99 channel limit right now. And I think I can work out what I want do do with the lower 99 channels later.

There is nothing to limit it to 99 channels.

Send your zap2it username/pasword over and I'll take a look.

Thanks to sub, I have all channels available (sort of, one is missing, 150 Encore???) Anyway, I was going to http://www.zap2it.com, not labs.zap2it.com and updating my listings. I had no idea that they weren't tied in. I have 1-99 via tuner, and another capture source with 101+ via composite with girder plugin. I will test tonight and this weekend!!!!

Also, I just checked the webserver/scheduler , and the additional channels I selected show up, but they don't have any programs listed in them..

Well, I removed both capture sources, and installed them one at a time. Then I updated the EPG for both , one at a time. Now via the web server, it appears that the guide is correct for all of my selected channels. (I still don't know why channel 150 isn't there.) It cleaned out off of my scheduled recording, no big deal. but what will happen when I go into "Recordings"? will it still list all of the shows I have on my HD? And if so, will it have the descriptions for them? (I hope so) and if not, can they be retreived?
