My config file is fine also - all set to true for wakeup

hmmm

Might have to build a smaller htpc with my other case so itisnt too loud to leave on 24/7. Argh.

Mike

Oh the EPG will update if I do it manually

I am going to try to set the time for the update, and then make sure the computer is on, and see if it auto updates or not.

99%cpu when it is updating too..ouch..2.4ghz cpu, and like 512 or 1gb of ram on that system I was using....

Still the same problem here.
In config.xml i also had two entries for the EPGupdate. I removed the wrong one, but still no results. Strange thing is manual updating works fine, and waking for a recording as well. So everything seems to be ok; except that it doesn't wake for updating the EPG.

Is there some way to check whether GBPVR stores the wakeup-time in the BIOS?

I use a dial-up internet service. When update EPG time was set to 3 AM, I never got any updates. I don't know if my PC woke up or not. I changed the time to 6 PM, when I'm usually connected. I assume the update program does not know how to do the dial-up. Is that correct?

No, its does know how to dial up. Any of this extra stuff would need to be managed outside of GB-PVR.

I tried setting the sleep timer to an hour, and still wont wake up. This is just strange. I will have to do like I said, just run it 24/7 or switch programs I guess. Wierd.

Wish we could get like a month of programming at one shot rather than a week or so...that would make it more convenient also Smile

Have you tried setting up a scheduled task set to run something just before the EPG update time and set it to wake to run the scheduled task, so that when the EPG update runs, the machine is already awake?
Just an idea of something to try rather than leaving the pc on all the time

Good idea! I set up a scheduled task that runs a batch-file that get new xmtv data and updates the EPG. I disabled GBPVR waking up the machine (well...it didn't work anyway). Now it works.

But, is it safe to have both GBPVR and Task Scheduler to wake up the machine? They don't interfere with each other?

I don't know of any problems, with a scheduled task to wake the machine at around 3AM, my machine still woke up for GBPVR recordings

After a bit of investigation, I found this on MSDN:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp...US;Q318355
It seems like it doesn't matter what you've entered in the Power Options, it turns off after 5 minutes regardless of that setting. Apparently this is "by design", but they don't give a very good reason for it...

This would certainly explain much of the problems I'm having (I guess this behaviour might vary from computer to computer..?).
