I don't use any of these plugins, and recently ran out of space without realizing it, so something built in would be cool. Now that the main screen starts with the big square on the right with the upcoming recording info, something like "x/y used" on the bottom of that would be cool. (I have made a habit of checking the System plugin and on the computer, but...) Could this be done with the skin?

If you want something on the main screen only, the video archive panel (which can be used independently of the video archive plug-in) will do this. Many skins support this panel.

I solved this problem by transcoding: in postprocessig diskspace is checked and the oldest file is transcoded to save space.

I solved this problem by deleting, cause lets face it, transcoding takes up space and you have to delete it eventually.

Can you give me a bit more info on this? Do you mean install the plugin and then find a skin that uses that part of it somewhere?

Yes. If you install the plug-in that will install what is mneeded for the panel. You can then use something like the community skin which I beleive lets you turn on the panel through its plug-in interface. Most of Tisper's skins support this plug-in too, as does Plain Jane. As can't recall for sure, but I think I may even install an updated main menu for the blue skin so that it supports it as well.

Well Lopazopy, it was your script that made me think of checking diskspace in postprocessing. However the WAF is better of with transcoding than just bluntly throwing it in the bin - I found out that it is just that one show that was deleted yesterday that the W wants to see -

Eventually you will have to delete thats true of coarse!

Nice, I had posted a question about this earlier, because of 0 length recordings after a partition filled.

I'd like GBPVR to warn me for not having enough diskspace at the time of scheduling the recording of a show.
I should be relatively easy to estimate the minimal needed diskspace for recording the show I selected, and maybe suggest another drive for the recording.

This would be a nice addition and save me some missed recordings.

Actually, its not with the digital tuner cards. The bitrate is set by the broadcaster at the time they transmit and it can vary wildly. (from very good quality high bitrate HDTV, down to very poor quality low bitrate standard definition)
