I'm using the hauppauge 150 card with it's IR blaster and it controls my Dish Network 301 receiver (their standard non-DVR receiver). It works great.

To answer the original question, there is a list of supported boxes. I have no idea how complete it is, though.

I have a Dish Network 322. The standard IR blaster that comes with the 150 does not control the STB. I needed to buy a USBIRT. Plugged it in and...it works fine. If I were to get dish all over, I'd stay away from the dual tuner boxes and make them give me single tuner boxes. A lot less headaches and more configuration options.

Thanks for the info. see my plan is (once my house is built) get 2 dish receivers. Run them into my PVR. Then stream it through my network. So I only have to buy 2 receivers and pay monthly on 2 of them. I would probably have bought the dual tuner box before reading this.

stefan Wrote:I get about 25 channels, of which I get about 10 both digtally and analogue. I pay $17 for this. When I think about it, I think there is also a $3 fee on my rent for "cable tv fee". If I don't want any digital channels, only the 10 "basic", analogue channels, that's all I'd have to pay. I could of course pay some more to get even more channels, but I don't find it worth it.

Off-topic, but on seeing Stefan's post I have to share this - I pay over a $100 a month to Charter each month for digital cable and broadband (the only alternative for me would be DSL and we got rid of our landline and switched to VoIP a long time ago).

A guy from Sweden has joined our office this week on three month transfer and I was talking to him about setting up cable, etc. When I showed him the charter package - 3M down, 256k up - he couldn't stop laughing about it and showed me his provider in Sweden; 10M down, 3M up for less than I pay here!

Don't you just hate lack of competition?
