Well, I don't use Vista but I guess doubleclicking on the .reg file would do the trick, you need admin rights to run regedit.

I'v run the beta drivers for some weeks now and so far I'v seen one crash that might be related to this driver (and I record sevral programs a day). Windows crashed with the message "driver corrupted MN pool". In all, the beta drivers refered here seems to be the best choice so far.

I appear to be having this problem on vista with a HVR2200 - Is it known to occur with this card as well? I'm using the current hauppage drivers?

Same for me for the HVR2200 (when recording from an analog source) and latest drivers (except running on XP Pro, SP3).
Crikey, this thread is 21 pages... can anyone sum it up briefly? Basically is the problem with hauppauge drivers, and the HVR2200 being a newish card maybe hasn't had its drivers tweaked yet?

Hi Guys,

I started on my HTPC project a couple months ago but I got side tracked with work issues and the Fourth of July (I shoot public fireworks displays), then vacation, etc.. Things also got side tracked because of a bad Seagate 750gb SATA drive. I'm on my second one now and it's headed back to Seagate too . . . GRRR! I -knew- I shouldda stuck with Western Digital!

For now I'm playing with an older ide drive.

Anyway, I had XP SP2 loaded and got things working but I got adventurous (it's amazing what balls you grow when there's nothing important on the machine and you can just reload it if things screw up!) I decided to try Windows Vista Ultimate (just had a bunch of friends and family calling with problems and since I didn't have Vista I couldn't help them so I decided to load it up just to play with it).

I loaded Vista Ultimate without issue. I haven't even loaded any motherboard, video, or tuner card drivers as Vista loaded drivers it had and everything is working fine. Vista Media Center works fine and I'd actually probably just use it if it weren't for their DRM issues. I finally figured out how to disable the remote driver as it would launch Vista Media Center functions when I used the remote in GBPVR.

All seemed well and it was a very simple and straightforward install, but now the time stamp issue has showed up - last night I recorded Star Trek Deep Space 9 and it did record it and it's all there, but it only shows it recorded 8 minutes and 23 seconds.

OK, do I need to load the PVR-150 drivers, or is there a tweak to make the Vista drivers work correctly?

Thanks!

Steve

Just had a look at a couple of recent analogue recordings made with the HVR2200. Yep, crap time stamps. I didn't have the problem with the old PVR150.

Both hour progs. One showed 43 secs and the other showed the right length but clicking the timeline didn't do what it should.

Damn!

I loaded the PVR-150 driver and I've made three recordings now and all is well.

Yesterday I loaded the current drivers from Hauppauge's website. I kept those and just made the registry addition today.

I recorded 6 shows this afternoon. All were correct on the time line. Previously a half hour show would show anywhere from 7 sec to 33:46 (minConfusedec)

The driver currently installed for HVR 1600 is 1.62.26028.0
The driver currently installed for PVR 150 is 2.0.48.24227

My chipset is nvidia nforce2 IGP in an Anthlon XP @2133 MHz with 2 G RAM and XP Pro OS

Is that a report of success? Big Grin
