Possible Bug?

I tried several times to select "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" to record from the web interface and it will not set it in the record list. Thus far this is the only title to exhibit this behavior. The program is airing on Dish Network channel 312 on Saturday July 9, 2005 9:00 PM - 11:20 PM. I have been able to select other satellite channels to record with no problems.

Thinking it might be the length or the speciial character ":" I found another program with a long title containing the ":" 'Guns, Germs and Steel: A National Geographic Prese'
and set it to record and it accepted it. This program is airing on WPBT Channel 2 (Comcast Cable) Thursday July 14 2005 2:00 AM - 3:00 AM.

channel logos: i could well implement this option and let people turn it on or off using the style sheets. I'll probably have a look at the same time as making >> buttons for the next day.

m&c: odd one, can you dig around in a folder like 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files\gbpvr\5d2ea027\20f6e5dd\assembly\dl2\27c70d45\00717ac4_0e6bc501' and find the log files. With the logs we have a chance, without them we're pretty much stuck.

I looked in the log as you suggested and this is what I found:
----------------------
7/8/2005 2:08:59 PM.153 VERBOSE [802] Looking for capture source to record: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
7/8/2005 2:08:59 PM.153 VERBOSE [802] Possible capture device: DIRECT:Hauppauge PVR150MCE:1

7/8/2005 2:08:59 PM.169 WARNING [802] No available capture source found
----------
Yet channel 312 is enabled on this capture device and is in the channel listing. I was able to schedule a different movie on the same channel for this evening. I checked the current recording schedule and found a program on Channel 2 (Cable) that was already scheduled for 11:00PM that would overlap with the requested recording.

There are two PVR 150s installed with the Cable connected to both tuners and the satellite to the composite on PVR 150 #1. Apparently it sees a conflict for recording devices. This suggests that GBPVR assigns the capture device for a recording at the time the recording is setup doesn't actually resolve this kind of conflict at run time.

So now I know WHY it won't schedule the recording the question is this a "bug" or a "feature" :-)

I can appreciate that. It's just that I was under the impression that selection of the capture device was dynamic.

It is to a point (for example, cancelling a recording will look for any conflicts that can be dynamically resolved etc), but there is a lot of different scenarios, but this is one that isnt dynamic.

normanr Wrote:build 20 is out, it adds support for ZapTools information. Thanks to UncleJohnsBand for the patches.

I wanted to provide a little information on what this new feature in the Enhanced Web Admin provides to users that are using Zap2It EPG listings and the ZapTools plugin that jorm created and maintains.

The update uses the extend program information that ZapTools provides to display if a show is a repeat, what the rating of the show is and the show classification.

These items were something that I use alot for recording but were not previously availble within GBPVR or the Enhanced Web Admin.

Working with normanr I was able to implement access into the ZapTools extended information without having to package ZapTools with the Enhanced Web Admin itself......This is important since not all GBPVR users can utilize the Zap2It EPG service. If you have ZapTools installed....then you get the features....if you don't nothing appears differently.

Here is a screen shot of what you can expect to see in the Web Admin when you have ZapTools installed.

Hope you enjoy the new functionality. Big Grin

I love the new support for the ZapTools info in the Enhanced Web Admin! Thanks to UncleJohnsBand and normanr for this. One request -- could the info be added to the "Manage Recordings" page, as well? It would be helpful to me in conflict resolution if I could see on that page whether an episode is a repeat.
