Hi,
AmericanSlon Wrote:Hi,

For some reason my channel order got screwed up after one of the EPG updates (or at least that's what I think was the cause since that machine is not used for anything besides gbpvr). The order of the channels in the default GBPVR guide is correct. What regulates the order of the channels and what can i do to fix this? I am using schedules direct (no xmltv )
Thank you,

you should be able to change the channel order for each of your defined guides on the "guides" tab page in the configuration form of the tv listings plugin. See the wiki page for details.

That worked, thanks! Any why that could have happened in the first place? Default TV guide's order was always correct. Thank you!

that's because the default tv guide plugin just takes all enabled channels and displays them, while the tv listings plugin allows defining multiple guides with user-defined channel-orders in each guide.

Hi,
I've just upgraded to the latest versions of GBPVR and TVListings, my play button no longer plays shows from the tv listings screen, although it still does in TVGuide.

The relevant lines in the keymapping xml's for TVListings and TVGuide are identical.

Is this fixable?

yes, it's already fixed and will be available with the next release.

So is this the best EPG to use now on the latest version of GBPVR (1.2.13 )?

Or is a EPG program like zap2xml or MSN_XMLTV better?

Iam just putting a PVR together this weekend and want to know whats the best or since iam new to this the easyest to setup and use for someone who has only used VCR's in the past. Big Grin

TV listings is a replacement plugin for the built in tv guide for viewing your EPG and scheduling recordings, watching live tv. You still need to download an EPG from somewhere

AFAIK, one of the best options for US users is schedules direct but you do need to spend a couple of $

Is there a way to display both the channel number and icon in the listings?

Yep...open the skin file for TV Listings and look for the section "<CompositeImage name="ChannelHeader" ... then add "<DrawImage filename="@icon" ...with size and location specified to get the channel icon. Next, use "<DrawText text="@number" visible="true" ... with size and location to get the channel name.

I've included my skin as an example. It has several other modifications (it shows 8 rows of channels x 3 hours of programming, but has reduced font to make it all fit), but you can see how my channel headder section works...you may need to change size and position parameters if you have the default grid size. I am using channel icon and name...the name is still a number but is formatted differently than the @number and works better for me (for HD feeds that have sub-station numbers). You can even use @NumberName to get both. Good luck!

Woohoo! Thanks! I like your changes too!

Question for the author(s), I have no problem modifying this to suit my needs, but I'm wondering if options like this could be incorporated in the GUI - or at least a couple of them. Maybe not any number of rows, but some static choices like "display [predefined numbers] of rows in the channel guide" (these would then predetermine the best font to use), "display channel [checkboxes] icon, name, number" etc...

That would be pretty nice and further define this plugin as a cool alternative to the default guide. This would also allow people to scale their guide to the TV size e.g. a small 4x3 right up to a gigantic 16x9 HD.
