I used the part # two different times when I went to a local store, so I know it wasn't misquoted. However, maybe someone's found a zero must be appended to the first number to make it work online. Neither give me a hit using this link, but since I know I bought the last 3 in my area, I'm not surprised my zip finds no results.

Sumter, SC Zipcode, 29150, shows there some available at both stores in that area. It didn't show any for my area of Florida, but for some reason I always remember that Zipcode when I haven't lived there since 1980!
Anyway, if anyone's in that area, they can pick some up. If they want to sell them to me, I'm interested (and should get "finder's consideration")...haha.

SteveO Wrote:Opps, forgot the link... Thanks for this big-time! It allowed me to find several more MVPs in nearby towns as well as distant towns that are near extended family members. Incidentally, I called the toll free number on that site that's designated for quantity discounts, and asked about a large purchase of that item number, but they confirmed that the item is being discontinued and is limited to available stock in the brick and mortar stores. I was thinking I could corner the market on remaining wired MVP stock, but no go!

FYI, when I called some more local Radio Shack stores and gave them the stock # as 250-3215, they automatically repeated it back to me as 25-3215. I asked them if they normally take out the zero and the salesman said that they see the stock # quoted both ways, but their in-store system uses 25- and not 250-.

blader_se Wrote:When are these deals going to get to Sweden... When some kind hearted North American buys several and mails them to you! ![]() I find this whole Radio Shack closeout thing a little strange -- Hauppauge is still selling these from their online store for $99, and the best deal that I've found on them elsewhere on the internet is for $82. Sort of makes you wonder what price Hauppauge sells them to Radio Shack if they're able to liquidate their entire MVP inventory for $40 per unit, when everyone else is still selling this for $80+.

Just picked one up today at a local circuit city for $54.95. It was on a side rack with no price tag. IT's no longer listed on cc online store. Only saw one box at this store.

Pilot Wrote:When some kind hearted North American buys several and mails them to you!A friend of mine works in retail. She told me that when you see outrageous deals, they are probably being sold much less than the original cost. Think about it this way: Say Radioshack bought 100,000 MVPs from Hauppage at say $60 each, that is $6 M cost. Now they assume they sold 80,000 at $100 per unit, that is $8 in, $2 M net profit already, and they still have 20K to go. Space is the number one reason behind such deals; sometimes you need to reclaim your retail and storage space back for new products so you mark them down. Selling the remaining 20K for $40 each will generate an additional 0.8 Million profit. Yes they are selling them at a price probably below cost, but hey, someone else paid retail for them earlier this year ![]()
