Any way to stream video to WMP over the internet?

Quick question - when I install VLC, the first option is minimal - should I pick that, or one of the others, such as Recommended??

Well, would you believe it APPEARS to be working now - I say Appears because I'm at work, and I'm pretty positive that port 7648 is blocked. Is there any way to change the streaming port?

Yea....it is on the config tab in EWA.

Well, still can't get it to stream - get a File not found in WMP. Will fire it up at home locally to get good errors and send the log to you for analysis.

Simple fix.....per the streaming instructions on the wiki....notice the bolded staqtement....

Default Settings

• VLC Player to open externally
  
• Stream Bitrate = 256
  
• 320x213 Video Size
  
• VLC Install Location set to c:\program files\videolan\vlc\
  
• Stream Port = 7648 (If you change this port do not use 8080…this is used by VLC)
  
• Stream Buffer = 5000 (5 seconds)
  
• Below Normal Process Priority (on a strong machine you can bump it up but I have found no problems on this setting in combination with the other default settings)
  
• Video/Audio/Mux combination = MP4 Video, MP4 Audio and Mpeg-TS Mux

Now look what port your log is showing you have set as the stream port....

What a dummy I am! Will change it when I get home (I set the Web Admin port to 8080 also, so I can't get to it remotely!)

OK, I have my admin port on 8001, my stream port 8000. I still am getting File not found errors on the client in VLC and Network errors or something to that effect when I try streaming to WMP10. This happens on my home network.

Attached is the logs you suggested might provide a clue.
