Sota - If you can record a mpeg2 stream in MyTheatre or something than I think there is a program called VideoRedo which can convert mpeg2 to ts. I haven't done it myself but I have seen the option while editing some mpeg2 files.

BTW- I am also having similar crashing issue. I am using twinhan card but I also have nova-s plus installed in the same machine.

I'm pretty sure it would have long since lost the useful information by the time it goes through all these transformations. Its only really useful to get the full original transport stream.

Halcut, thanks for the reply. Having spent Christmas Eve putting up the dish and most of the holidays trying to get this to work, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I may try the card with a Linux distro to capture the stream, but right now it's just sapping my will to live!

Sub, I'm not convinced that this is a GBPVR problem. I'm getting the same behaviour on a number of different apps, including DVB Dream and TS Reader - crashing after a couple of seconds of video. This thread on the Hauppauge site sounds similar: http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=8777

Although it doesn't explain why MyTheatre works fine!

Yes, thats interesting.

I know they bypass a few of the standard interfaces for tuning, which may explain the difference.

One of the posters on that thread mentioned that he had some success with Vista. I'm going to try the card in a Vista PC to see if it's any better.

Sub, I came across this knowledge base article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896626 - I'm not sure if your'e aware of it. After applying it, config could scan a few transponders and find about a dozen channels before crashing.

I have seen mention of it before, but its not something I've ever had to apply myself. These are updates to the Microsoft PSI Parser, but GB-PVR has its own and doesnt really rely on any output from the Microsoft one. (but data does still flow through it, so there may be benefits in having the patch installed)
