sub Wrote:The CPU should be ok, but that S3 is likely to be a problem with any HDTV video. Most people require a pretty decent video device to HDTV playback working (nvidia 6600 or higher).

Thanks. Good to know. In my earlier research, I was relying on HDTV card mfg recommended minimum hardware requirements. Apparently those with hardware decoders / accelerators (MyHD, Dvico Fusion) didn't state a need for a robust GPU in the host machine.
Is there an equivalent ATI chipset to the NV6600 I should use as a baseline?

sub Wrote:No you can click the green status bar. GB-PVR's control is pretty much designed for remotes. There is some minimal mouse control - but it doesnt extend to stuff like this.

You can click the 'manual rec' button in the recordings screen to create a recording on any channel/time/recurance.

Unfortunately, as in the green status bar, the trackball doesn't work. The trackball only can increment the highlighted CHANNEL section. It will not scroll down to the START DATE, START TIME, etc., etc.

sub Wrote:I think the HDHomeRun driver only enables the first tuner, so you'll need to wait for this to be resolved. After this is in place, you can setup two capture sources for the HDHomeRun, one as device #1 the other as device #2, and GB-PVR will automatically allocate recordings to these capture sources.

When one sets up to do the initial channel scan, the user can select either tuner. However, the results of the channel scan do not include any info on which tuner is in use. The channel selection information is the same. HDHomeRun Config may be the work around to select the active tuner that GB-PVR is sending change commands to.

Thanks for your assistance.

There will be, but I dont know which one. I dont live in country with HDTV, so I'm only repeating other user's comments - and unfortunately I've not heard similar comments on the ATI side of things.

Sorry, I dont use a track ball so cant really help you with that one. My advice would be - get a remote. Its designed to be used by remote, and makes things so much easier.

I imagine jafa will come up with some scheme for his BDA drivers so you know which device number relates to which tuner on the HDHomeRun.

GB-PVR doesnt let the user select which tuner to use in GB-PVR when scheduling recordings etc. It does this automatically based on a set of often described rules.

Looks like the latest driver now supports dual tuners Smile

20070211beta

* BDA driver supports multiple tuners.
* New HDHomeRun Manager application for installing/managing BDA driver and tuner instances.

Great. They're definitely making good progress with this device and its drivers.

I have dual tuners working as of last night with GB-PVR and HDHR. It seems to be working great. The channel scanning still isn't working correctly in GB-PVR but it's fairly easy to work-around just a hassle.

Can someone describe what the channel scanning issue is? I wasnt aware of any problem, other than the one at the start of this thread, which I'd thought the HDHomeRun guys were going to fix.

It's still the same problem. It's fairly simple to fix on our end (just modify the tuning request string), so I haven't pushed the problem because I know Nick and the team were busy working on the dual tuner.

Have installed hdhomerun 211 beta 5, firmware 219, reloaded GB-PVR, etc, etc.

When I get to capture sources, can install BDA Recording plugin.

When I select Digital Channel Mapping:
"GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use."
press [OKAY]

Unhandled exception warning:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
