Thanx for the detailed explanation. I would have expected Hauppauge to test multiple cards to capture this during beta testing. I wonder if I can get two HVR1600 to avoid the remote control problem (prior to re-boot/wake up). I'll give your suggestion a good look.
Any other HDTV cards out there that runs as well as the PVR150 and can run in pairs?

It also kills are restarts ir.exe after standy (not sure about hibernate) as ir.exe definately cannot handle the wake up. I suspect that this is because the device is not yet ready.
FYI: This thread gives some details on how ir.exe uses the registry to identify which device to bind to. You will have to do hack around to find the details for your specific device(s)
