GB-PVR's part of the process is over by the time you get the "BDARecorder::StartRecording() finished" message in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log. Usually its within a second or two of this that data from the card has made its way through the mux, and is being written to disk.

You might want to compare times against that message.

I think these logs show it quite well.

I started the recording, same way as the other times (record button on tv guide) at 16:35:00 on the dot.
At 16:35:03 you get the bda start recorder finished message.
Then at 16:35:28 you get a stop recoridng, start recording.

I noticed the plugin monitor window kick in to action at 16:36:02. Indicating that it's finally start doing something.

You don't say, "ok nothing is happening so start again"? It looks like that might happen twice before there is finally a checking signal strength message at 16:36:00.

I really appreciate all your help and would love to get this nutted so you can go and help someone else!!

It looks like your first attempt to record results in no data at all coming out of the card. So after thirty seconds it decides the file is way too small, then stops the recording and restarts, which going by your description then works.

If you set it back to the default <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord>false</BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord>, does it behave any differently?

I only changed that in the hope that it sorted it. Changed back, restarted recording service.

Started record at 16:53:03 Monitor window showed activity at 16:54:07.

I'm not really sure what to suggest. I'll think about it a bit overnight.
