i looked, no movie category. how do i go about making a movie genre.

Also, the only number I have that looks anything like an episode number is: EP3169780104
but that doesn't match anything I've seen, ideas?

Here is the xml I'm outputting (the output is very neatly formatted in the original file)
Quote:<programme start="20070629160000" stop="20070629170000" channel="033">
<title lang="en">Law & Order: Special Victims Unit</title>
<sub-title lang="en">Shaken</sub-title>
<desc lang="en">Stabler and Capt. Cragen search for suspects after a missing infant is discovered badly beaten in the bushes at a local park.</desc>
<date>20031125</date>
<category lang="en">Crime drama</category>
<category lang="en">Drama</category>
<category lang="en">Series</category>
<rating system="VCHIP">
<value>TV14</value>
</rating>
</programme>

Does it matter that the start and end times are in local time? Not sure how I'd know the conversion.

Also, does it matter how big the xml file is, mine appears to be 10.8mb for 14 days of data.

If you dont explicitly specify the timezone, then it assumes local time, which would be fine in this case.

You’re on the right track Oz!
I just returned home from boating so I’ll try to post an example from your download.
I’m looking at the sql database file Yahoo imports the data into, I’ll take a look at the unformatted download later to see if I can find the same ID. But hopefully this will help in the meantime.

----
One movie listed in your xml file is “The Mummy Returns” on channel 28.
I opened (using sqlite Administrator) the Yahoo TV Go database I downloaded and in the “programs” table it shows the movie as having an “external_id” of “MV1045220000” .
The xmltv “unique_ID” for this listing is “MV104522.0000” so we have a match once a period is added!
That’s a good thing because sub added xmltv dupe avoidance a few versions ago, and it uses the same exact system, but with the period four places in,, not a big deal.

Here’s a xmltv download (as formatted by xmltv) of the same listing, hopefully you can look it over and match the information to the yahoo epg download.

I added the movie genre to the TOP of the genre list in I-xmltv by looking at the first two places in the <episode-num system="dd_progid"> if it started with MV I added "Movie" to the genre list. Adding movie as a genre and the period 4-places in is something we can do with an external utility if needed, but it would be nice if it was all in one package.

I was wondering how to format those ep guide ids. I can definitely format that in the program.

Should I really take the time to put in the actors, does anything use that?

I do need to add the movie rating thing.

Hi Oz. my I-xmltv utility added the actors/directors/ect. to movie descriptions and allowed people to search for movies or shows using the actor, as a genre type.
You could find all the John Wayne movies by selecting John Wayne as the genre in the enhance web admin or TV Listings. Don’t worry too much about it for now because I-xmltv will be broken until I re-write it for whatever the new xml format is, but it would be nice to have again sometime in the future.

If possible, it would be great if we could keep the new xml format as close as possible to the original xmltv na_dd spec, line spacing carriage returns after each entry and things like that.
It would save some conversion work for the other xmltv utilities that used the original format.
If you need any help with the format let me know, its almost a year since I last paid much attention to it but I’m sure my memory will come back.

HasDialogRating = ???
HasLanguageRating = Language
HasSexRating = Nudity? Adult Situations? Strong Sexual Content?

HasViolenceRating = Violence

Sorry I missed your post until now. I'll see if I can cross match some of the yahoo shows with those ratings to an xmltv listing when I have time.
"HasFantasyViolenceRating" sure sounds strange....

Code:

Adultos

Graphic Violence

I believe they're V-Chip TV ratings.
I did a query for "is_fv_rating" with a value of "1" and came up with a show that had this rating in xmltv.
Code:
<rating system="VCHIP">
      <value>TV-Y7</value>
    </rating>

checking here, Fantasy Violence gets a rating of TV-Y7
http://www.whyy.org/tv12/ratings.html

Data Direct V-chip ratings, the ones used by xmltv NA_DD are here:
http://docs.tms.tribune.com/tech/tmsdata...nition.pdf
Code:
5.2.1 xtvd/schedules/schedule/@tvRating
Value
TV-Y
TV-Y7
TV-G
TV-PG
TV-14
TV-MA
