Curious - I have a printout of one of my Scan-X.cache files pinned to a corkboard by my PC - it's well over a year old, possibly 2 years old. It shows Crystal Palace has always used 8325 and 8294 for ITV2/3 respectively (or at least since I printed it anyway Smile ).

AlanC - which transmitter do you use?

Cheers,
Brian

I'm on Angus transmitter - current scan shows ITV2 on 8325 and ITV3 on 8294.

I looked at gbpvr.db3 and found this:
Quote:T:C66,834166,0,0,8~NID:12299~ONID:9018~TSID:8202~P:8330~V:2826~A:2827~L:eng~PMT:271~LCN:6~N:>ITV2
T:C66,834166,0,0,8~NID:12299~ONID:9018~TSID:8202~P:8300~V:2950~A:2851~L:eng~PMT:272~LCN:10~N:>ITV3
So I changed to this:
Quote:T:C66,834166,0,0,8~NID:12299~ONID:9018~TSID:8202~P:8325~V:2826~A:2827~L:eng~PMT:271~LCN:6~N:>ITV2
T:C66,834166,0,0,8~NID:12299~ONID:9018~TSID:8202~P:8294~V:2950~A:2851~L:eng~PMT:272~LCN:10~N:>ITV3
reloaded EPG and now have ITV2 and ITV3 back. Suggests that at some time Angus was transmitting on 8330 and 8300???

I did a rescan a couple of nights ago to catch up on the Film4+1/C4+1 thing, so why was gbpvr.db3 still wrong?

I've done a quick search on sites that discuss DVB-T issues but can't find anything that mentions changes to SIDs for ITV2/3. There again, the sites are usually concerned with people using Freeview STBs so won't normally go in to technical details. It obviously happened in both your cases but I'm surprised that the UK DTV consortium didn't get their act together in this respect from the start.

sub will correct me if I'm wrong but it could be that the scan-x.cache files in the BDA folder mean that existing tuning information is kept and that a rescan will only add new channel information. If you delete the cache files from the BDA folder it would pick up the changes correctly.

I often look at http://www.ukfree.tv/ for information about Freeview around the UK. The homepage is a bit basic ('How do I get Freeview?' etc.) but http://www.ukfree.tv/txlist.php has information about work going on with the various transmitters etc. Occasionaly the user comments include some tech. information or general observations.

There's also Digital Spy forums at http://www.digitalspy.co.uk. There are occasional tech. discussions there but they've revamped their forum software since I last visited and I couldn't find anything useful.

Getting late - need to eat, need to sleep.

I already found ukfree.tv and find the transmitter info useful - but not a lot of point asking a question - Mr. Tist invariably refers you to the 'retune your stb' thread. I'll have a look at digitalspy though - thks

Anyone any idea why I don't get a listing for ITV3. Every thing else is there, just that one channel's epg is missing.

I'm on Sutton Colefield.(Midlands UK)

Its kind of hard to tell from here, but if it was what the guys indicated above, then it sounds like the channel IDs have changed and you may need to scan and remap ITV3 to correct it.
