Squid, I got that sticky key problem too, and couldn't figure out how to stop it. I tried to install the replacement MCE IR driver and EventGhost, but EventGhost isn't working. None of the button pushes on the remote seem to be captured. The IR receiver blinks red every time I push a key so I think it is receiving the button push, but the log in EventGhost doesn't show anything, and no action occurs. I'm probably missing something; can anyone give a hint?

If I can't get EventGhost to work, maybe I will have to try HIP. Mucaro, if you could post your configuration file, that would be helpful. Thanks!

EventGhost is superior to HIP. I used HIP, but then found EventGhost and have never turned back.

Attached is my EventGhost config file for the MCE remote.

Wakalaka, I tried your config file but it is giving an error when trying to start the MCE remote plugin. The log says:

Error starting plugin: Microsoft MCE Remote
Traceback (most recent call last) (908):

Wakalaka, I found another EventGhost configuration file someplace that starts without any errors, and that's the one I was trying to use when I said that EventGhost wasn't logging any key presses. I have attached the file. It is for the version 2 MCE remote. The one I have is identified in the GBPVR Wiki as the version 2a remote, only it is made by Hauppage instead of Microsoft.

if you would just give up on eventghost and use hip you would be rocking by now Smile

all jokes aside
are yo sure windows is even working with your remote i know the led flashes but im wondering if the actual signal is getting through
if you load up HIP just to see
you may need to load athe generic driver for hip along with the mce drivers
to see if it recieving the signal go into configuration and try adding a button

Ditto that, Stustunz. Rolleyes

I remember having the same double-key problem when I tried my MCE remote the first time. The problem went away after I tried HIP.

Cheers.

Yes, I do know that Windows is working with my remote, at least when I use the eHome Infrared Receiver driver from Microsoft and not the replacement MCE IR driver. If you read my earlier messages, you will see that I said the remote works with GBPVR, but it has the "sticky key" problem where every key press repeats until you push another key, then that one repeats, etc. So the IR receiver is definitely receiving and sending the right command to GBPVR, it's just doing it way too many times! I also discovered that with the original eHome driver, EventGhost DOES work and it records the key presses, so now I'm thinking there's some problem with the replacement MCE IR driver for some reason. But many other people seem to be using it just fine, so I'm puzzled. I did have to edit the INF file for the replacement driver because it did not recognize my IR receiver (same problem I originally had with the Microsoft eHome driver). I wonder if I needed to edit something else in that file that I missed.

Sonoma03, where did you get that replacement IR driver from? EventGhost, HIP, or somewhere else?

ok good luck sorry for not reading properly
i still stand by my comments
HIP is the way to go Smile

double hits only happen if 2 programs are trying to both send the signal once received in your case gbpvr and eventghost maybe
