Same problem over here it seems like with a M780. I get
Quote:ERROR Failed to start BDA Graph
VERBOSE ERROR_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED
Using Vista Home Premium. Sad

Just like stlbearboy said, using graphedit, I can't connect the "Microsoft ATSC Network Provider" to AverMedia Tuner, but "Microsoft Network Provider" is able to connect with no problem. Could this be a clue in what the issue is with those cards?

It does seem like the problem has to do with Vista and connecting to "Microsoft Network Provider" (only in Vista) instead of "Microsoft ATSC Network Provider".
There's an old thread here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=34071
where there was a similar problem with an ATI card, and here: http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:rMm...=firefox-a
where someone had a similar problem with an A180 and Meedio. They were able to fix it by installing an old XP driver that allowed the connection to "Microsoft ATSC Network Provider".
I wish I could find an old XP driver for the M780 to see if it would work.

I know the cards work with SAGE, VMC, and the Avermedia software on this system. Does anyone have any clue how they (Sage) is getting the tuning done. Don't they all use the same drivers

Just for comparison's sake, what operating system are you using? You mention VMC, so I assume you're on Vista, but I'm not sure.

phoenixweasel Wrote:Its definately O/S and/or installed programs related. I loaded up Vista Business edition on another hard drive I had and it all works fine.

There were some issues installing gbpvr and not registering some of the .ax files, but that was a on brand-new install w/ no patches/updates. Installed SP1 and then gbpvr installed fine... but still gave a "failed install" message for some reason. Not sure why as there didn't appear to be errors and the software is working.

If/when I figure out what is causing the conflict, I'll update the post in case a future-me-clone runs into the same problem...

Did you have any issues with this, I just installed Vista Business, and I am still getting the error. I have an hauppauge 1600 in the system and it is working fine. i can try to install home basic later tonight.

Ok I installed Vista Home Basic SP1 and I am still getting the same issue. BDA fails to load. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Any updates on this issue?

I am only interested in obtaining ATSC OTA (over the air) with my AverMedia M780 card. I am using it successfully with SageTV and included AverMedia software, but am now planning on switching to GB-PVR.

Unfortunately, I am unable to get GB-PVR working with ATSC OTA. It only appears to recognize the Analog [Tuner 1] (non HD) ability and not ATSC (Tuner 2). I've tried both the current and beta AverMedia drivers. I've been unsuccessful in finding a resolution on the web so far.

(See attached image) - It appears that the ATSC tuner only accepts connections from "Microsoft Network Provider", opposed to "Microsoft ATSC Network Provider". I'm guessing this is the issue. How do I correct this to allow input from Microsoft ATSC?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

edit1: This problem occurs on Vista Business x64. It did not occur when I was previously using XP 64.

Sorry, I'm out of the country for another week. Bump the thread after that and I'll investigate.
