Hello,

I am using windows 10 with an Avermedia 7231 analog capture/tv tuner card. I used to have it running on windows 7 with Windows Media Center. However, there was no WMC in Windows 10.

I have looked just about all over the internet trying to find a solution to be able to watch tv again on my Avermedia 7231 card.

This search brought me here and I have the latest version of NextPVR installed. Under settings/devices I see an Avermedia 7231 DVB-T Tuner. From readings the forums I was to install SoftPVR to get the analog version of my Avermedia card. I downloaded WinTV7 and 8 from the Hauppauge website. Next I ran the SoftPVR batchfile softpvr.bat as administrator to get the correct settings. It extracted several .ax and .dll files from the archive.

Unfortunately the settings/devices still only shows the DVB-T version of my card and not the analog version that was supposed to be added to the list.

Honestly, I am real tired after hours of reading, installing, reinstalling, uninstalling, etc. I am living in The Netherlands and get my analog tv from cable. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Regards
René

The app has an AnalogDevices.xml file that defines the common analog devices. If you've got the SoftPVR components installed, but the device isn't showing up, then chances are your device needs to be defined in that file.

Thanks for the fast reply.

Where would I locate this AnalogDevices.xml, because I can not find it in the NVPR folder. Currently I have installed NVPR 3.5.7.

Thanks

I think there was some info in the wiki.

Basically copy one of the sections already in the file, but replace with the filter names for you device. You can run FilterCheck.exe to see the names of your device filters.

If you want to post the xml section, I'll include it in the master version of the file.
