Looks like some sort of problem with WizUiHelper.DLL
Code:
2008-05-14 20:02:44.793 VERBOSE [1] System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Void WizUtilities.WizUiHelper.WizUiList.setSelectedItemWithText(System.String)'.
   at WizPlugin.SearchWizX2.Activate()
But, it looks like the right DLL got loaded. Could you try downloading and re-installing SearchWiz and see if that fixes the problem.

If it does not:
  • Re-download the most current version of MovieWiz.
  • Manually delete plugins/common/WizUiHelper.DLL
  • Re-install MovieWiz
If neither solution works, run WizDllInfoHelper, create a log and post.

Followed your steps, made no difference. Attached is the log file from WizDllInfoHelper.

Ok, I've create a new install of SearchWiz, with updated DLL versions to insure the correct ones get installed.

Try this.

So what DLLs do I have wrong versions for? I assume you saw something in the log file I posted. I'm curious to learn how to debug my own problems.

It looks like there is something wrong with the WizUiHelper.DLL. SearchWiz is calling that DLL on startup to set the active list item (for the filter list if I recall correctly).

Log message:
Quote:2008-05-14 20:02:44.793 VERBOSE [1] System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Void WizUtilities.WizUiHelper.WizUiList.setSelectedItemWithText(System.String)'.
at WizPlugin.SearchWizX2.Activate()

I can see the program is failing in the Activate() method in SearchWizX2, because it is trying to call some code in the WizUiHelper.DLL (WizUiList.setSelectedItemWithText()), and the error indicates that the method is not found in the DLL.

The DLL works on my machine, so I know the method does exist. I created a new version of SearchWiz and supporting DLLs, AND bumped up their version numbers so the install would force the replace of the code (install will not replace DLL if it is the same version).

As a last resort, if your installing of the updated version of SearchWiz does not work, we can:
  • Save off the MovieWiz database
  • Delete the Wiz* dll's in the plugin/common directory
  • Delete the plugin/MovieWiz directory
  • Delete the plugin/SearchWiz directory
  • Re-install most current version of MovieWiz
  • Restore the MovieWiz database
  • Re-install the updated version of SearchWiz
That should force ALL the most current (MovieWiz, SearchWiz, Wiz DLLs) code to be present.

Spoke too soon, now SearchWiz acts REALLY slow to button presses. Every other plugin and menu responds at normal speeds. Even just typing in a name with SMS enabled responds really slow.

I cannot recreate the behavior.

Here is a version of WizUiHelper.DLL with additional logging around the SMS keystroke processor. Could you try this version (copy into your plugins/common directory), run then repost logs.

Additionally, include your config.xml, I'd like to take a look at your SearchWiz settings.

Still has the problem, log files attached. I also copied MovieWizEmpty.db3 to MovieWiz.db3 because I thought maybe my db3 file wasn't working 100% in the MovieWiz plugin, haven't reported it yet because I want to get SearchWiz straightened out first.
