Directories Randomly Dissapear and Reappear and other issue

Ok the guest account was turned off. It is now turned on.

I have tried to find the simple sharing check box and it is not there. I have searched the internet and even watched videos that outline the exact steps shown here and the simple sharing box is not there. Is this because it is XP home? Something I read made it look like it was default in XP home.

Also is there another way for me to get my remote to start GBPVR other than editing the Irremote.ini. I am using a hauppauge remote. I have always just edited the Irremote.ini and have never had a problem before, but normally I am pretty patient, but the amount of time I am spending on something this small is starting to wear on me.

yeh I think xp home only has simple file sharing available so the options mentioned previously may not be available to you.

no, editing irremote.ini is the only way to get ir.exe to launch gbpvr.

it's a weird problem you are experiencing for sure but I agree with the previous posts that it does appear to relate to your security settings.

Ir.exe is wintv, right? Could my problem be there somewhere?

Could there be some sort of extra config file in GBPVR that is being pulled when I use the remote that was the initial config file when I has having the problems from the start of this post? Then maybe there is a correct config file that is the new one from after I stopped having the config.exe problems. I know I am coming up with crazy ideas, but who knows.

Maybe try searching your hard disk for extra copies of config.xml. If the way you're running PVRX2.exe results in a different working directory, its possible it is using another copy of the config.xml.

We have seen one other user in the past that a different file in another directory that was being used.

There was a config.xml in the WinTV directory. All is fixed now. Thanks to all who helped, it is very much appreciated.
