@5l4K3r

if you open a command prompt and type the following:

E:\Games\emulators\atari\stella\stella-2.3.5\stella.exe "E:\Games\emulators\atari\roms\Airlock.bin"

Does it work?

Ok as I mentioned in an earlier post XtraEmulators uses a different way of launching the applications from PCGames. it would seem GameZone needs to support both methods for best compatibility. I will add a way to select which way the application is launched under XtraEmulators and this new version will also support the launching of an application without any arguaments. I will initially post it only in this thread as it would seem there is quite a few issues out there at the moment.

Thanks for you patience.

@Pastro,

Thats really good to hear, any ideas what may have caused it?

You may not be up for after all the issues you have had, but I have posted a new 2.5 version which should have better error catching and also adds extra functionality to the XtraEmulator feature.

Cheers

If you go into the Xtra Emulator tab and delete any that you currently have set up. you will notice that there is a check box called Use Shell by ticking this box it will use the Xtra Emualtor launching method that you saw in GZ 2.4 leaving it unticked will use the same method of launching that is used by PCGames.

And, if you do not use %FILE% in the arguament field then GZ will launch the program directly from the menubutton.

Would love to hear if this works from others.

Thanks

E:\Games\emulators\atari\stella\stella-2.3.5\stella.exe "E:\Games\emulators\atari\roms\Airlock.bin"

Does it work?

Yes, it works fine.

[EDIT] I just installed the 2.5 version, and now ATARI works as it's supposed to in XtraEmulator without the "Use Shell" box checked!! Big Grin

I just kept the same settings I had before, and it just worked!

Some other things...

1: On my sytstem "<PCGamesENA>True</PCGamesENA>" has to be changed to " <PCGamesENABLED>True</PCGamesENABLED>" to not be kicked out of GameZone when clicking on the "PCGames" button. After it's changed, the PCGames I have configured work!

2: I noticed that when I exit pvrx2 and then restart it, the "Snaps" button automatically resets to not show snapshots. Is there a way to have it default to always show snapshots?

Besides that, everything else works flawlessly!
Thanks again for bearing with me!

Really glad its working!

The PCGamesENA being changed to PCGameENABLED is a bug. I am off to bed now as its early in the morning here, however if you have the chance could you send me your log files when the config.xml entry is set to PCGamesENA it might help me figure out what it going wrong.

As for your SNAPs always on suggestion I can look at a switch under General for the next release.

Thanks

Thanks, Unfortunately, the PCGames parameter in config.xml was still set to PCGamesENABLED instead of PCGamesENA

What I think is happening is that you will have a button on your lefthand menu for "PCGames" whereas I have a button for "PC Games" (note the space)
The button name is used throughout the code to track the selected Emulator and what points within directory structures it is in (you may notice the addition of a ":" to the name at times!
So when your button is not matching up to the correctname you are not being dealt with by the correct code, instead you will have fallen through to the "I dont know what you are" code this is called XtraEmulators currently "PCGames" may be working like this but theres nothing to say it will continue, hence I would really like to get it nailed now.

Can you put the entry in config.xml to PCGamesENA and run up PVRx2 try using "PC Games" and send me the pvrx2.log file
Also if what I have said up above doesn't match up with your experience please yell Smile

Many Thanks
