Sub, you must be lucky and maybe it's a batch hardware related thing but the HVR-930c I have is only working with the drivers from package WinTV6 v4.8 (drivers v5.8.925.26269 - 25/09/2008). We all now that those drivers are not good as they only support DVB-T in GBPVR.

The latest drivers available from Hauppauge are v5.81107.26322 - 17/11/2008, as included in their latest release of winTV7 - v1.2, and they do not detect any DVB-T/C channels in GBPVR or in WinTV7 on the Belgium region (cable operator Telenet and DVB-T by national TV channels).

I've called Hauppauge Germany and they confirmed they have big issues for WinTV7 to get the HVR-930c working properly. I do not know for which regions or in what respect they have received so many complaints but something wrong is going on for this peace of hardware. I've also learned the chipset manufacturer is blocking a number of linux driver releases, don't know why but that is published on the Terratec drivers website, so I wonder whether this is a mature product?

I'm not sure what to do now, returning the HVR-930c as RMA or go for something like the Twinham as you mentioned.

Pfff ... peace of cake

Asking for an RMA today a German Hauppauge support engineer confirmed that 1 on 10 HVR-930 sticks has a power consumption issue resulting in no channels found when using the latest drivers. Hauppauge is working on it, not sure how they can fix a hardware related problem, but the engineer explained that will try to solve this probably with new drivers which will limited power consumption so that the tuner gets enough power to function properly. Strange  ... anyway I'm returning the HVR-930 for an RMA. I've posted a copy on the HVR-930c topics and will continue to post my results over there (http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=28). Could take a couple of weeks before it's replaced.

Hi all,

finally some positive news about the HVR-930c problems I've had so far. Hauppauge Germany replaced my stick under warranty and the channel detecting issues are solved now. Everything works fine in GBPVR with drivers v5.8.1107.26322 - 17/11/2008.
