I should have been more specific. I simply meant that it treats all sources the same, and cleans them all. That's fine if you can easily rebuild them from your EPG source xmltv file, and usually you can.

However, in my personal case, I've customized some of the recording source and channel data directly in gbpvr.db3. I've added some info to the display_name field so, for example, I know that a particular channel is available from 3 sources, while another is only available from 1.

Quote:As I mentioned at the beginning of my rant, it was not directed at gazoo. I should have meant anyone specific.

I'm glad. I really wasn't sure what was up, but on rereading what I wrote, instead of coming off as helpful advice for the OP, it looked sort of like I was blaming your programs for hanging his batch file. In truth, I've got nothing but admiration for your work. (Now that you're buttered up, I've got this problem with ......) Smile

As a second step - how many channels do you have?

Thanks Dennit - I'll give that a shot later tonight, it's set to record some programs this evening.

I dunno how many channels total, they run from 2 through 67 but many in the teens have no channels on them, I think 14, 16, 18, 19, and 20 are blank but I'm not sure right off the top of my head. Channel 5 is blank too.

Sounds like you're using analog tuners. I would use the ChangeEPGSources.bat

Contary to it's category, it straightens out a heck of a lot of stuff

---
I would suggest getting the latest Ultra Enhancer from my New Release thread. It has a 'Interact with Desktop' check and set...

Hi Zhed,

Yes, I'm running analog tuners.

I downloaded and ran the ChangeEPGSources.bat. It ran well but afterwards I noticed I had programs in my recurring programs list that weren't shown in the pending list but should've been as programs were upcoming. I opened a command prompt and ran the pvrx2.exe -removehistory and then reloaded the epg from within GBPVR and now things seem to be OK as far as the recurring programs now showing up in the pending. We'll see if it auto updates a bit later tonight and I'll report back.

Thanks!

It took me a bit to find how to do this . . . for those reading this thread I'll save ya a search:

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Service, then view the properties of the GBPVR Recording Service and set it to 'allow the service to interact with desktop'.

For the record, mine was NOT set so that was probably the issue. We'll see at 2am!

Thanks guys!

And the new UltraXMLTV Enhancer would be doing it for you too!

Great for passing it on though.

I thought I put it on the wiki in a few obvious spots, where did you find it and where do you think it should go?

Hi Zhed,

I haven't upgraded to the new UltraXMLTV Enhancer yet, just been busy and the old one is doing what I want it to do so it's not been a priority. I'll give it a look in a couple days when I have some vacation though.

It may be on the wiki - today has been busy and I've been jumping on and off of the computer so I didn't spend much time on the wiki beyond downloading the bat file you suggested. Later I was reading the whole thread through again and saw the other reference to the interacting with the desktop thing but I didn't see any instructions on how to check that. I couldn't find it in the config file and when I would go to the gbpvr folder and right click on the recording service and then properties I still didn't find it so I did a quick search of the forum and found a note by Sub in another thread that detailed it. It wasn't hard to find at all but I thought I'd post it anyway just to save others time.

Thanks for the help - we'll see if it's fixed in a little over an hour!

TTYL,

Steve

OK, the epg updated automatically just fine last night! Smile

I'm not sure what fixed it. It was probably the interacting with the desktop thing, but I'm sure the epg source change bat file didn't hurt anything.

Thanks for all the help, have a Merry Christmas!
