Well in this case, There has to be a better way of getting a log file or crash log or something. Because it now it doesn't pick a specific channel to crash on.
It can scan to as high as 90 then crash or crash at 24. It 's almost like playing pick a number between 1 and 90 and we will crash.
I am on the Suddenlink Cable system in West Virginia , USA. They have went to 100 % digital. And there a pain in my rear end right now.
I specifically built my Computer system for Entertainment and Gaming since I am using it all the time. And just saves me extra room in my house for more living space.
No need for living room. lol. But throw out some idea's and tools at me. I really am in love with this software. I will try to help as much as I can.
right now I am at a lvl of frustration , that makes me confused.

And do I have to write over a key in reg file or make a new one. Or explain to me better what you need.

Nothing really springs to mind, but if you bump the thread in the weekend, I'll try to make a patch that can capture the full TS for each frequency during a scan, then you can supply the one that crashed during the scan.

Sub,
I may be able to add a little to this. I now am having crashes when scanning my HDHomerun (QAM) after replacing my empty.db3 file (resolving an issue with the HD-PVR blaster). I had scanned the HDHomerun numerous times while learning NPVR setup in the past weeks. I never had a single issue with the scan. After replacing the empty.db3 file and restarting setup..now I cannot get a successful scan...I am receiving the same error which cannot be cleared to continue...

General info about my scan:
I am scanning Default Cable Channels 70+

If I click 'OK' or 'Cancel' before the scan is complete the same error occurs. (after a short freeze...10-15 seconds)

It does populate some channels to the device channel list, so over multiple tries (and freezes) I've been able to populate the majority of my QAM channels.

No channels found for Frequency '115' on any attempt...strange. Can view all channels on this frequency with the HDHomerun viewer and was able to detect and record these channels before resolving the HD-PVR blaster issue.

Not sure if this will help, but there it is...

My logs are attached.

Thanks,
Bill

Your problem doesnt look the same as dman40's. Give this patch a go and see if it helps.

sub,

Looks like the same error. The scan crashed again. Still no detect of any channels on 115 before the crash.

Logs are attached...anything else I can check for you?

I'm not sure on the crash, but logs show it finding lots of channels - remember it wont list channels you already have enabled from a previous scan.

Hmm...I wonder if it thinks its found the channels on 115 before....Is there any way for me to add the channels manually without a scan? I know the channel settings..

No, not for digital channels. Users will not typically know all the stuff the application would need for digital channels (frequency, sid, tsid, onid etc).
