What exactly is going wrong for you?

When I use your database, with your existing data, it's correctly finding the one episode of Kingdom and scheduling it. I can see it listed in the Pending recordings.

You can ignore the screenshot I posted earlier. I though you said it was an 'All Episodes, all channels' recording. It was only when I reread your post that I saw it was 'All Episodes on this Channel'

On some occasions, after an EPG update, it does not schedule a recording. Looking in the logs, I note that they have the message "doesnt match recurring rules" when the EPG update is run. It seems the program has shifted slightly and you said that it now lies outside some timeslot.

But I want it recorded irrespective of the timeslot. Please check the log files from above.

I'll have to take your word for it, but the only way I'll get to the bottom of it is with a database that is currently causing the problem, and an example recording, so that I can run it up in the debugger and see what is happening.. From the current example database, it seems to be fine, and is scheduling the recording.

In those original logs, was that going to be the first recording ever for this recurring recording? If so, I think I see what happened.

Yes, I think it was. Not 100% sure, but definitely could be.

Yeah, I know what has happened. I've double checked the code against your log messages. There is a rule that makes sure it wont schedule episodes prior to the on that was used to create the recurring recording. For example, if you had the 'Kingdom' airing every night of the week, then on Monday created a recurring recording from the Thursday airing, then it would only record from that episode on. In your case, you created the recurring recording, then a subsequent EPG update has moved the start time forward (even just a few minutes, making that first episode before for start date/time for the recurring entry, effectively making it invalid).

Yah, makes sense.

FWIW, I feel that if I say "All episodes on this channel", I can accept extra recordings that occur before the day that I happened to pick to start with.

Thanks for the explanation.

I've made a small change for the next release that would have stopped this from occurring. It'll now accept episodes from that day onwards, rather that day/time onwards. This at least doesnt change the behaviour significantly, but does allow for the scenario that tripped you up.
