Sorry, I dont know. Others dont have this problem though, so it must be something different about your setup.

I didnt think Windows firewall prompted. Are you sure you're using the standard Windows firewall, or is it some 3rd party firewall?

Standard windows firewall - it didn't prompt until I used cmd.
Just tried making changes to the firewall but no joy yet. I will post back if I find a solution.

And even then it crashes as soon as I actually try to watch a channel.

Well I thought it was the firewall - but that might have been a red herring - I have allowed both private and public in firewall for NPVRX2 and Nrecord - but still no joy.
For now I may just have to reinstall GB-PVR.
What a shame.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the npvr.log and nrecord.log and I'll take a look.

NPVRX2 does not have anything to do with NPVR, the app in npvr is NextPVR.exe, and if it is a firewall issue you need to allow it through the firewall.

On the other hand, if you'r not able to install the recording service, it is most likely a protection issue.

Yes sorry the entry for PVRX2 was for GB-PVR I just realised.
Now can't get anything to work - just tried reinstalling GB-PVR and am now wondering if my DVB-T stick is dead (even though device manager says it's fine)

Maybe you got the device driver scr**d up. Is it possible to reinstall the driver?

Just tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but no joy. It now isn't even trying to work on either GB-PVR or NPVR.
So I can't reproduce the crash results etc.

Think I may have to get another DVB-T stick :-(
