Actually I just realised that 3 nights ago, I tried to playback an old .ts file that I had previously converted to mpeg which had the audio running too fast. I configured to the LAV audio decoder to add a delay of -20ms and that worked fine. I assumed that the conversion to mpeg had broken audio sync but I just played it via VLC on my laptop and it looks fine.

hummmmmm.

jki, can you upload an npvr.log file that shows you playing back the mpeg file. It is possible we are using the same mpeg decoder and there is a problem with it.

Yes, I could. But I have tried at least four different decoder with it, no one was any better. Time error is not linear, so this 1,8s is right advance only about 10 min from start.
Right correction should be something like: +(1,3s + x% from whole lenght) Guess, because at the end of file difference is so long, that was almost impossible to see, who is speaking. Difficult to calculate x.

Is ffmpeg version same in 2.3.6 as it was previous distributions? Could it be the reason?

And all channels switch to it very same day, when I update my Npvr. Not likely.

Possibly (you didn't say what version you upgraded from) but we would be talking about a scenario whereby ffmpeg creates an mpeg file that plays fine in VLC but has sync problems (using any video AND audio combination) in npvr. Maybe it is to do with the number of B-frames or something like that.

As martin said, maybe create a 50MB sample that reproduces the problem and upload it so he can take a look at the file.

What ffpmpeg command did you use?

did you see this btw

This command worked from apr11 to jan12: ffmpeg -i %1 -f vob -ab 128000 -acodec mp2 -b 2500k -vcodec mpeg2video -deinterlace "%~dpn1.mpg"
Anyhow, this issue is past. Currently situation better than ever, because now new .ts files can play with Npvr and non-default audio renderer.

Allmost ready now, only two feature needs something. Too often occurring "failed recording" and epg language selection. Have to try find some time to solve these.

Why are your recordings failing? I dont have any known issues that would account for this. What does the error message say?

Always "No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal".

definitely broken mpeg file so something went wrong with the ffmpeg encode at some point.
this looks relevant
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/57259...kips-audio

I used to use this command line ffmpeg.exe -y -i %1 -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f vob "%~dpn1.mpg"
Probably best to focus on the failing recordings now.

If you can post the nrecord.log showing the failed recordings, I can double check, but it sounds like the device is failing to log on to a signal.

XP SP3 users also need DVBFix which need to searched out, megaupload downloads won't work of course.
