sub Wrote:Thanks for the logs. I think I'm going to see an additonal log aswell. Create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\LogSlipFile=1 (DWORD), then reproduce the problem and post the client npvr.log and c:\temp\reader.log, and server's nrecord.log.
Guess the Reader.log should be from the client, the last part of Nrecord contains the failed attempt to watch live tv on the client. Npvr from the client is in Reader.zip.

I have had the same problem. My logs look similar to those of RedDwarf. I can supply additional information that may or may not be useful. My problem occurs when using Live TV on a client running version 2.4.3, where the client is an Acer Netbook (i.e. a bit slow), and the server (also running 2.4.3) is a Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz laptop.

However, if I use version 2.3.6 on the client (instead of 2.4.3), and 2.4.3 on the server, but replace NShared.dll on the server with NShared.dll from version 2.3.6, then Live TV on the client works, and as far as I've tested so far, everything works fine on the server even with the older NShared.dll. I am using only Analog TV with a WinTV-HVR 950Q by Hauppauge.

I have this problem on both of my clients. It appears to only be an issue with my analog tunner cards. When I watch a digital channel it functions correctly. I don't have any logs to post at the moment but if my logs showing a digital working and an analog failing will help I could post them tomorrow.

Looks better, after a few minutes of experimentation -- the elapsed time to start viewing live TV on the client is back down to about 8 seconds, and I haven't seen the nasty message yet. I'll let you know if it recurs.

Thank you!

Seems to work here too, I'll do more testing and report back if the problem persists.

And for what it's worth - I just encountered this problem, found this thread, and the solution works for me too.
