So the order would be...

1. Record File
2. Run comskip
3. Delete extra comskip files
4. Rename/get thumbs with imageGrabLite
5. Covert with MCEBuddy

I already have the first 4 steps complete, just need the 5th one Smile

I'd like to do a similar thing, but am unsure of a few things. Can MCEBuddy be run from the Postprocessing.bat? If not, how do I keep it from starting right after the recording stops and before steps 1 to 4 take place?

If it can run from the batch file, how do I handle the fact that the file name was changed in step 4?

I have used MCEBuddy; but I have always let it do all the work whenever it wanted to.

Thanks!

Some options were given here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...n-together

My 2 cents to delay MCEBuddy processing:
1. Set the min age before conversion time under settings (delay processing)

If the filename is changing in step 4 then there could be 2 options:
1. Have MCEBuddy monitor a different directory from your recording folder (e.g. you record to D:\recorded tv, process the file and then put them into d:\processed tv and have mcebuddy monitor that folder
2. Something new, with the 2.3.15 there is a CLI tool called MCEBuddy.UserCLI.exe, you can call this from your script after processing is complete with the option like MCEBuddy.UserCLI --command=addfile --action="D:\Recorded TV\My File.wtv". This was you don't have to have MCEBuddy monitor any folder and can use the scripts to add the files when you're ready.

I took option 1 and it seems to work, except NPVR is not finding/recognizing the shows after they have been converted to MKV. I thought NPVR monitored the recording directories and if the file name changed it would delete the file it couldn't find and add the file it found. Is it because NPVR doesn't recognize MKV?

The files in question had been in the directory for over a week before I let mcebuddy convert them. Before that they showed up in NPVR and played just fine. That is everything worked just fine after step 4; but not after step 5. I need to sort this out before I convert any more shows.

Edit: I guess NPVR doesn't support MKV. I converted them to MP4 and they still didn't get back into the recording directory after one day of waiting. I used VidImport (very nice) and was able to import them back into the database. I have since let MCEBuddy convert a few other shows to MP4 and they still show up in the Recordings.

Don't know exactly how MCEBuddy works, but why don't you just enable MCEBuddy to run between 2 am and 6 am? This would solve most of your sequence problems. It also has the added bonus of giving the best quality of show if you watch it right away.

Many applications are unfamiliar with how to decode it, since it has a very different multiplexing format than the more conventional MPEG container known as Program Stream, which is used on DVDs, and what is produced by many encoder cards.

You may prefer to this step by step tutorial on how to decode TS to MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, MP3, etc and vise versa.

Hope it will help you more or less.

.TS can be mpeg-2 ts, mts or m2ts and even mod, you can use this Free mod converter.

Hi @BTJustice, greetings from Italy.
I'm quite a newbie user of NextPVR but I found it the best replacement available for Windows Media Center, especially in conjunction with contributor version of MC2XML (the one with XBOX Guide support, really needed here in Italy).
Anyway, I'm going to throw in MCEBUDDY2x support (the contributor version too, providing the UserCLI executable).
Looking on this thread, I'm unable to find the .ZIP file containing your suggested config for MCEBuddy
Help?

What is it that you want to do with MCEBuddy?
