If I erase the mc2xml.dat file and directly run mc2xml.exe, outside the batch file, I get a much bigger xmltv.xml file run that seems to have lower channel data I renamed that file TVGUIDE.xml and used it in nPVR but I still can't get any data in the channel guide.

Zip and post this new, larger xml file as sub suggested. If the start times are wrong, I'll adjust them so you have a test file to use.

I'd like to but it is larger than the limits of the board. It is 4.2MB. Could I edit and shorten it for you?

Here is a truncated version. I deleted all the program listings after about channel 37.

@whurlston: It sounds to me like richardcoop2's UpdateEPG.bat file might not be working properly, much like The_Keymaker in the thread given below. I solved my own XMLTV problems by replacing my original UpdateEPG.bat file with one based on the code you gave in post #5 of that thread - and I thank you for that!

By the way, AVG Technical Support has analyzed the mc2xml file and fixed the AVG Identity Protection false detection that I mentioned previously.

I replaced the code in the batch file with the code in that thread. The xml file was much larger, like just running mc2xml, but the listing still did not display in NPVR.

If you can zip and attach your current npvr.db3 and TVGUIDE.xml, I'll be able to tell you why.

Success! Thanks to all!

I spoke to soon in the above post. Changing the code in the update bat and moving mc2xml to C;\epg did it.

Now I have all the listings. Perhaps the mc2xml how-to should be revised.

I really am grateful for all the help!

This Forum is the best.

@Zeb, good call. That's what I suspected but I wanted to verify his file first. The previous version he posted didn't have listings for the channels he wanted.

Glad I could help. Coming to think of it, I also changed the folder to EPG at that point, which is probably why I had to remap all channels next. And yes, the mc2xml page of Wiki User Manual's TV Guide section needs to be revised.

One more thought: Could it be that the folder name is the critical thing, and that the code given in the User Manual really works just as good as whurlston's code?
