Buffering of HD channels in XBMC only

I have a windows 8 machine running Kodi and nextpvr. Live TV works fine on that box.

I also have a fire tv stick that uses the windows 8 machine as the nextpvr backend. On that, live tv stops and buffers every 20 seconds or so. After it buffers once, the picture freezes and never resumes, and the audio plays only intermittently.

The fire tv stick does not offer the DXVA-HD render method, only "Auto Detect".

So I installed SPMC onto the fire stick from here, as suggested by @DaveNinja, and that finally did the trick: no more buffering of live tv.

I found this post and thought I would resurrect it instead of a new one.

I got Kodi setup with NPVR. Everything seems to be going ok. The guide, recordings, etc. I go to watch a channel and it only streams about 8 seconds and buffers, refreshes and goes on. This takes about 2 seconds, every 8 seconds or so.

Curious, because until now I only used NPVR for recording and not live TV, I created a channel stream in my Serviio like this http://library:8866/live?channel=25.1 and it buffers out too.

I checked other channels on Kodi and came up with something interesting. It only buffers on SD broadcasts and not 1080.



Also, off topic, if it's not too much trouble, can you look at my log and see why Kevin Can Wait.S01E13.Ring Worm went to my default folder instead of Modern Sitcoms, the folder it was supposed to go to?

Completely different versions of Kodi and NextPVR software now, your Android h/w is different and your problem isn't even the same. Why post on this thread? Assuming your box is Amlogic S905 based you might want to see if Kodi 17 helps.

Again, way off topic but I will take your quiz, going by the recording ID (125431) which is a few thousand lower than your current recurring ID's I would guess it is a one-off.

I found this post and thought I would resurrect it instead of a new one because it seemed like buffering Kodi/NPVR issue and could be related. I didn't even consider the software versions differences and some bark about starting new threads when other similar threads, issues/area's are already started. Just trying to be tidy.

I'll try to upgrade Kodi to 17, which as I understand, just came out. I just fired it up and learning Kodi for live tv.
