TV Guide not populating

You're right! I looked up a channel-ID for a couple that are local here in Houston, and neither show up anywhere (beyond the list of channels at the top).

So ... I guess you've answered that question ...
... Microsoft Legacy is indeed dead.

But now that I have an explanation for why it wasn't working, I'll go ahead and shoot for the only remaining solution ... Schedules Direct.

Please let me know if you have any issues with the lineup / data that we provide; if there are errors in the channel lineup or schedules, then open a ticket on the Schedules Direct website so that we can get it fixed; our upstream has direct contact with almost all of the major providers / producers so that they can verify your issue and get it resolved as quickly as possible.

If you're not a Schedules Direct subscriber and you're having issues with your lineup, if there's a particular channel that you'd like to see what data we have in order to compare it with what you're getting from another provider, then send me a PM and I can show you the level of detail we have; it may be more than you're expecting without having to go to multiple sources.

The tvguide.xml file did not have current listings. I am not sure why NextPVR was looking there for EPG anyway. It should be looking at the xmltv.xml file for the EGP data.

I tried deleting the mc2xml.dat file and setting it up again and it did download the data again but it still is not available in NPVR.

I also cannot view live TV in NPVR. I uninstalled NPVR and did a fresh install and it is still not working. Not sure what to do next.

It should be looking at the xmltv.xml file for the EGP data.

I can't see an attempt to do an EPG update in those logs. The simplest way to get the right logs might be to reboot ... this will restart all of the NextPVR processes and start new logs. Then do an Update EPG and then zip and attach the logs folder. Thanks.

I also today discovered that my guides are not populating. The key difference is that I have been using SchedulesDirect. My current config has been working for at least 3 years now, and no changes have been made.

The error is reporting a miss-configuration. I am not sure if this error is new, or something that has been going on for a long time. My NextPVR and SchedulesDirect config is the following:

That's not good. Let me see what's happening.

I've updated the code server-side to at least give a better error response; the one that you received was terrible and wouldn't be any good for troubleshooting. Can you try again please and let me know what you're getting now? The root cause may still be there, but at least the error message should be more enlightening.

I just kicked off the guide update against, and lo and behold my guide data is being populated!

So whatever change you made on the back-end seems to have fixed things. Thanks for the crazy fast turn around.

It looks like you have some channels configured to get their listings from tvguide.xml and others from xmltv.xml. Those that are configured to use tvguide.xml are going to get no listings, because this file doesn't exist.

Thank you for looking at it. I changed the three channels to xmltv.xml to see if that was the problem and then ran the update. But it still doesn't show the listings. I am not sure what I have done. On top of that npvr will still not view live tv.
