SoftPVR is a part of NextPVR? I was saying one program, NextPVR and not wanting a second, WinTV.

Totally up to you of course..... NextPVR is made up of lots of parts (like most programs) & it just needs that part to use analog.... if you had a look on the wiki you would find you don't actually even "have to" install WinTV to get it.... It also needs external codecs to function for viewing recordings/live TV which are also not part of NextPVR so......

Thanks for the heads up, I haven't gotten that far on the project, and haven't been working on it long either.

You'll only be using nextpvr. When it comes to analog, it'll just reuse a single directshow that was installed with SoftPVR. Its not running any other applications.

ie, it's pretty much the same as NextPVR not installing any decoders itself, and just reusing directshow decoders you've already got on your machine. It's just reusing a directshow filter that is commonly installed with Hauppauge software.

Ok, I am trying to install SoftPVR with "Option 2". I downloaded softPVR_beta.zip and wintv8setup_33195, which I renamed (I have tried both WINTV7_CD_ and wintv7_cd_. I put the renamed file in a folder I made in the C: and it recognize the WinTV file. Any ideas why?

I've got WinTV installed, so I've never had to use that Option 2. Someone else will need to answer that question for you.

After reading the instructions again I see this:
"Please note: The following version works on either 32 or 64 bit windows, from XP through Win8."
Does this not work with Windows 10?

I'm pretty sure it's not to do with this. It'll just be a case of no one having updated the page since Win10. There is nothing special going on there which is likely to have broken with Win10.

Does anyone know a way of getting this to work?

What do you mean by "broken with Win10" ?
