Hello, I am totally new to NPVR and Kodi since upgrading to Windows 10 and losing media centre for my media functions. I have successfully set up NPVR with Blackgold bgt3620 dual tuner and the video/audio decoders. All was working perfectly until a few days ago Kodi was unable to connect to the tuner for channels. I went into NPVR and the same problem. It stalls and after a while says the tuners are being used for recording would I like to select another. However none are being used and none are dispayed to try. The only option I get is to return to menu. I have stopped the recording service, I have removed NPVR, reinstalled with 3.5.7 and nothing seems to work. I now dont have any tv at all and dont know what has caused it.

Any advice?
Did you make sure that Nrecord.exe, NextPvr.exe and NDigitalHost.exe was allowed through the firewall?

Thanks.....but no I haven't. However last night I decided to start again. I removed the Blackgold bgt3620 Tuner card and removed the driver. Put the card in another vacant spot and reinstalled. It worked but.....I now had no sound on HD channels!!!!! Configured the audio decoders and I now have a fully working system again. I feel that the only change to make my system fail must have been a windows 10 update? But i'm no expert. Will allowing the firewall for the EXE files speed up channel switching?

Nope, if they were not allowed nothing related to live tv or recording would work so that is obviously taken care of by the installer.

There is a new release of NextPVR this weekend. Try it with that release. If you've still got the same problem, I'll be able to give you a patch with more logging.
Logs attached.
uninstalled 3.5.7, rebooted, removed program files\NPVR directory, rebotoed, installed 3.6.6.
Setup showed all the same information, as I apparently forgot the users\NPVR directory, tried to play an SD channel, no video or audio on default settings.
Changed video codec, no change.
Created zipped log files from initial config screen, file was created but the program crashed.
jpsa Wrote:I've been seeing this recently too. I think it first started when I upgraded to Windows 10, but I'm not certain about that.
It only happens (for me) though, in the first five minutes or so after waking the machine up each day, so I'm guessing it may be to do with concurrent checks for Windows updates or something like that?
The symptom is that I'll wake the machine up, start nPVR, and start viewing a programme. The programme then plays fine for maybe 15-30 seconds, and then I'll get the message
The tuner you were watching was required for a recording. Would you like to
switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the menu?
Exiting back to the menu and restarting the programme then works, for another 15-30 seconds, and then the problem happens again.
After about five minutes, though, the problem stops happening, and I then don't see it again for the rest of the day.
I've just updated to 3.5.7 this morning, and if the problem happens again, I'll report back with some logs.
It seemed to have been better since updating to 3.5.7, but the same problem was back again this morning: started watching about quarter to nine, and had three occurrences of "The tuner you were watching was required..." over the next 10 minutes or so. Logs attached.
