No. In fact it's worse!! I can't even get a signal if I plug the cable directly from the wall into the DVB-S tuner. I would have expected better or the same??

Does your ordinary satellite receiver/TV work without the splitter. If so it looks like a problem may be with your DVB-S tuner card not sending power to the dish or perhaps the wrong voltage or tone.

Chris

Yes the set top box does work without the splitter.

Hmmm... so could be a faulty dvb-s card? But it seems to work fine on some channels but not others? ?

Anybody know any (other) way I could test the card?

I'm not that good at reading the logs, but from what I can tell it is scanning the 2 freeview frequencies 12483 and 12456. But recent changes have moved a few channels to 12519. These include Prime, The Edge, TV4+1. What channels are you actually missing?

The channels most affected are TV3 and Four. I can't figure out what's wrong at all.

If dish/lnb is not correctly lined up with satellite you will get what you are describing
Maybe dish is old or water had got into somewhere it shouldn't have and caused a bad connection
Cable may have broken down
Dish rusted or been hit by something

Thanks. Sounds right. Is there any way to confirm? I've checked and getting a tech out to realign or check the dish costs about $150 so would rather be sure that'll fix the problem. I checked the Sky TV signal strength, see the attached pic -does that tell you (or anyone) anything?

Just get on the roof with a spanner
Pull that screen up
Get someone below on the pH and move the dish around will only need a tweak get them all as high as you can
That's how I do it the tech guys are shyt they just get it good enough for sky to work.(better tuners in decoder boxes than pc tuners so they can put up with a lesser signal)
At a guess tuner 2 is tv3 that you have issues with or maybe tuner 4(I don't have sky they are robbers)
