The MAJOR problem is, black screen when I try to watch live video. And, the thing is, if it actually recorded video and wouldn't allow me to watch live, I would be ok with it. But, it tries to record (creates the file and folder), but, the recording is 0kb and nothing ever happens.
Getting a recording of 0kb is an indication of the real problem - there is nothing is coming from the device. Are you trying to use composite or component video? Does the device give video in the Hauppauge Capture utility (ie, telling us it's definitely hooked up correctly, and functional state)?
