It's kind of looking like the HDHR BDA drivers on your machine are not functional, or the Microsoft Network Provider is missing/broken.

I don't suppose you have any other software on your machine that can test the BDA drivers? The HDHomeRun viewer software doesn't use these (it uses hdhomerun_config.exe, like the NextPVR HDHR Prime support).

No, I don't believe I do. Any suggestions of other software to test the BDA Drivers? Or a way to repair the BDA Drivers or Microsoft Network Provider?

Unfortunately I can't think of any easy tests of the BDA drivers. Installing Mediaportal sounds like a fair bit of effort for this type of check.

You could maybe try doing an uninstall and reinstall of the HDHR drivers. I'd probably need to add more logging to narrow it down to whether it's the drivers or network provider.

According to your log, it looks like the error happens early in the process, when it's building the directshow graph for this device, and stumbles when connecting the network provider to the driver's tuner filter, so I'm pretty sure it's one of those two at fault.

There is repair/reinstall option in the HDHomerun Setup app.

Thank you sub and mv.

I uninstalled NextPVR completely and uninstalled HDHomerun Setup completely. Deleted the folders that were left behind including the ones in the users AppData, Public, Program Files, ProgramData, etc. Ran CCleaner. Rebooted. Reinstalled HDHomerun and NextPVR.

Exact same results. I can channel scan the HDHR tuners, but not the HD Extend tuners.

I have another computer that I can install NextPVR on when I get home later this evening just to see what that does. That may tell us if it's this particular computer or if there is some compatibility issue between the Extend and NextPVR.

OK, good news and bad news. Good news: I can scan the HDHomeRun Extend ASTC tuners in my alternate PC! Hooray!

The bad news is, I cannot Start the NextPVR Recording Service on that same PC! It fails with the attached message. I have attached a screenshot of the message as well as the NPVR log.

OK, my bad. I forgot that I had NPVR installed on this PC a while back and I had set the service to Disabled. The install of the new version of NPVR did not reset the service to Enabled. The service is working now.

Ok great re the other machine. On that original machine, based on the earlier logs, it's something about your BDA layer that's not functioning - either the drivers or the network provider. It's not easy to guess what exactly. If you're up for letting me connect for five minutes over teamviewer, there is a couple of things I can check manually.

For anyone following the thread, NuQ's problem relates to a faulty driver. We were able to confirm the same behaviour outside NextPVR. He's off to talk to SiliconDust about the problem.
