The remote server returned an error. 500 Internal Server Error

Great.

What exactly do you get in the desktop app?

When I first open it a box appears and says "The remote server returned an error. 500 Internal Server Error". Then it disappears.

When I select "Live TV" -- same error (no video, nothing happens)

The TV Guide does work.  But when i try to watch a channel -- same error

Yeah it's still doing it.  And it still works in Kodi.

Yeah. Same Channel works on web and kodi. But this 500 error on desktop.

Looking back at your logs just now, I can't see the requests at the time of this 500 error in the desktop app. You've not got some firewall or antivirus software that might be blocking communication?

(I'm just heading out now, but can take another look tomorrow if you don't make any headway)

Yes. I do have Bitdefender running. Should I disable bitdefender, restart the server, open the desktop app, try to start a channel, and then send a new log?

(Sidenote - Is there a faster way to restart the server? I've been restarting my computer each time. thx)

Still lots of image issues. What is the file size of C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\media\channels\CA BIG TEN.png? Maybe zip and upload it? I'm guessing there a files with 0's in them instead of real PNG files.

i went through the channels folder and deleted a ton of images. they all appear to be real images now. how does nextpvr handle channel images? I've read that the filename has to match the channel name (exactly). But the filenames can't/don't have this "|" illegal character. And (i think) all of my channels do. Could this be part of the hiccup?

That file is ok, I guess the error is in the http request sub is making. If the channel name include the pipe character and the filename don't that could explain a difference in the APIs.

Can you give an example of one channel taken from http://localhost:8866/service?method=channel.list showing the pipe character. Here is what one of my channels look like as an example.
