Need help setting up NextPVR

OpenDCT is an application that needs to be installed not unzipped. I see it on the releases on the right https://github.com/enternoescape/opendct....32-Stable and select the msi you need.

That's the one I download and installed. I downloaded the files from "opendct-win32.zip" and unzipped to the scripts folder and ran both of those files.

So you ran the msi and you can see OpenDCT running on the services tab?

Yes, I can see it on the services tab but the service is stopped.  I tried to use the start menu command to start the service and it said failed to start service.

Did you follow the instruction on github on installing Java etc? I think I used the 32bit version of both when I did it.

Yes, I cannot get the service to start.  I think I am about to give up on this.   Seems like a lot of work unless you think I am getting close.

I did not see any instructions for installing Java.  I'm sorry my computer is running really slow right now.  I think it is a hard drive issue which is partly why I am considering the upgrade.  It is difficult to see all of the instructions in multiple places.

Did you follow the steps on github?

Start OpenDCT in console mode the first time.

Windows: From the Start Menu, open OpenDCT Run as Console.

and if so did you see any errors running in console mode instead of as a service?

I am assuming you are running stock OpenDCT at this point.

EDIT: Yes Java is a requirement so a standard java install is needed. I checked and I am actually running 64 bit 12.0.2

I tried running it in console mode and there was an error. I’lll make sure I have Java installed tonight. Just left the house and won’t be back for a few hours.

OK I did note there were some changes to OpenDCT so I updated my custom jar on the other thread. 05.3.2 but don't bother with that until the service work on its' own.
